    hello ladies!!
    Ramazan has started here in india from today onwards & i wish every muslim lady on this community a very happy & prosperous ramazan.
    I have started this thread just to know all the delicious recipes which are prepared at homes for iftaar.
    Please ladies share some really good & easy recipes for iftaar WHICH YOU ALL PREPARE AT YOUR HOMES. MAY ALLAH BLESS US ALL & MAY YOUR FASTS ARE EASY.

    FIRST ONE FROM MY SIDE::

    RAMZAN KI DAAL( WHAT WE CALL IT AS)

    INGREDIENTS:
    SOAKED CHANA DAAL 250gms
    GREEN CHILLY PASTE 1tsp
    SALT & BLACK PEPPER ( to taste)
    CHOPPED CORIANDER & MINT LEAVES
    JUICE OF 1 big LEMON

    METHOD::

    PRESSURE COOK THE DAAL FOR "ONLY" 1 WHISTLE.
    DRAIN.
    IN IT ADD THE OTHER INGREDIENTS & MIX WELL.

    THIS DAAL IS A MIX OF SPICE & SOUR, ENJOY IT IN YOUR IFTAAR.
    ITS QUICK & VERY EASY.

    stuffed bread rolls::

    ingredients::
    Bread slices
    boiled potatoes ( mashed)
    finely chopped onions
    finely chopped green chillies
    finely chopped coriander leaves
    salt , pepper & red chilly to taste
    juice of one lemon
    carom seeds
    oil for deep frying

    method::
    Make a mixture of potatoes+onions+green chillies+ coriander + seasoning+ lemon juice+ carom seeds, mix well to make stuffing.
    Then soak a bread slice in water & add a lil stuffing in between it & roll it, giving it a ball shape.
    When all the dumplings are ready, deep fry till crisp & golden.

    Serve hot with ketchup & green chutney.

    Ramadhan Mubarak to you too. I have this snack recipe which is not that simple but kids friendly!
    Chicken an cheese balls
    Boil and mash potatoes. Add salt and pepper. Leave aside.
    Cut chicken breast in very small pieces and saute it with garlic salt and green chillies.
    Cut sphagetti into finger size pieces; boil and strain.
    Grate cheese of your choice.
    When everything is cool. Mix properly and make tennis size balls. Dip them in slightly beaten egg and roll it in bread crumbs. Deep fry. Enjoy!

    FRIED FISH TIKKA::: (our home style , very quick & easy)

    ingredients::

    boneless fish cut in small size
    ginger-garlic paste 1 tbsp
    red chilly powder 1/2 tsp
    green chilly paste 1tsp
    salt (To taste)
    carrom seeds 1tsp
    lemon juice 1 Tsp
    red food color (pinch)
    chopped coriander
    roasted chana powder 1tbsp
    kasuri methi
    oil for deep fry
    chaat masala & green chutney (for serving)
    method::

    wash the fish pieces thoroughly. apply a lil salt & lemon juice keep aside for half an hour.
    after that put ginger-garlic paste & all the other ingredients & keep for marination for about an hour.
    deep fry this tikkas.

    serve hot garnished with chopped coriander & chat masala, with green chutney!!!

    hai... Ramadaan Kareem to all...

    One of the most common kerala Ramadaan recipe...

    Unnakai:-

    Ingredients:-

    4 Ripe plantains (Nethra pazham)
    1c Grated coconut
    ½ c Sugar
    ½ c Chopped cashew nuts
    ¼ c Raisins
    1tbsp Ghee
    Oil for frying

    Method:-

    1.Boil or steam the plaintains till soft.
    2.Plaitains should be ripe but stiff.
    3.Peel the skin of cooked plaintains and mash it with hand when slightly cooled.
    4.In a pan heat ghee add chopped cashews.
    5.When cashews are light brown add the raisins and coconut and mix well.
    6.Add sugar and mix well.
    7.Now take small balls out of mashed plaintains.
    8.Grease your hands because this will be little sticky.
    9.Just flatten a little with ur fingers keeping the plaintain inside the other palm.
    10.Fill in the coconut mixture and close and roll in oval shape.
    11.If it is more sticky you can even dust the hands with maida also.
    12.Now heat oil in a kadai.
    13.Deep fry this unnakais at medium heat till brown.
    14.Serve hot. :)

    The above mentioned green chutney can be prepared by this method::

    ingredients:
    curd 1/2 bowl
    chopped mint & coriander leaves
    chopped green chillies
    chopped onion (1 big)
    chaat masala
    salt to taste
    1 lemon juice


    metod::

    grind well curd+coriander+mint+greenchillies+onions+ salt in mixer
    top it with chaat masala, & lemon juice!
