Whether its love marriage or arranged marriage doesn't concern in marriage.
Proper understanding, giving time to create the bond, Looking the positives and forgetting the negatives and a small adjustments here and there and care for each other and most important proper communication in-between each other will lead to success to any type of marriage. The XX part of it is a chemical reaction for reproduction only when there is a soul connection any marriage will win. That's what I have understood from my marriage and its a love marriage and its a successful marriage.

Incompatibility as a reason for divorce is fine. That is something that should have been checked when the marriage is being arranged at the initial stages. But divorcing for lack of the "in-love" feeling?

Let me ask one thing to those of you who support divorces of the latter kind. What is your idea of subjective well-being? Thrill and amusement? The romantic passion? Romantic passion is very difficult to sustain and unless there is a very conscious effort to keep bringing variety into the marriage everyone naturally loses the passion. This is why every single researcher insists that marriages should never be on the basis of romantic love. After all what is the point in making a permanent relationship based on temporary benefits that the relationship offers?

Totally, totally agree with you :) When people get married taking "romance" as definition of love, they might be married for one year or so... or may be till life gets serious with them. Life is'nt a fairy tale...

I am very curious as to the source of that statistic. Could you share where you came across it?

I would love to read this research. I am very interested in seeing how the experiment was designed, what the sample size was, and how they accounted for confounding factors like education, cultural background, age etc. Could you please link to these articles?

    Thanks!
