    Dear IL-ites,

The relationships forum on IL is a very active one with members coming here to air their grievances and problems and seeking help. The effort of other members to help out with suggestions and understanding is indeed commendable.

We already have a list of forum etiquette which we would like to bring to the notice of members posting here.

Be civil. No personal attacks, flaming, racial/caste slurs or insults. While debating matters, please do so in a respectful and impersonal manner. Be careful with your words, there is a point where being direct crosses a line into blunt, in-your-face hostility. Indulging in personal diatribe will result in moderation of your comments. Insulting another member or a moderator will not be tolerated anywhere on this website. Rude posts will be removed and infractions issued. If you find anybody making adverse references to you personally, please do not respond. This will only make matters worse. Instead, report the post and move on. It will be taken care of by a moderator as soon as possible.

Stay on topic. Attempts to hi-jack threads by switching topics or going off topic will be deleted. This is not a chat room - when people hi-jack threads by posting messages that are of interest to only few people, the threads often stop being useful discussions of initial topics.

However, we would like to make a few points absolutely clear..

    1. First and foremost, it is being noticed that some posters start threads requesting help and after getting a few replies/suggestions, delete out their original post. This is unfair on the other posters who have spent their precious time and energy posting replies. It is a mockery of their effort as it makes their posts meaningless. In future such posts will be reinstated and deletion of threads/posts will NOT be entertained. So think carefully before starting threads in relationship forum. Please refer our No Post/Username Deletion Policy !

    2. When replying to a thread, please restrict your replies directly to the OP. There is no need for anyone to make any unnecessary references to any other poster's suggestions. Each one is entitled to his/her own views and is free to air them here.

    3. Any post trying to analyze or run down another poster's suggestions will be removed immediately. Lets focus on helping the OP as opposed to trying to analyze responses of others.

    4. Any member found indulging in bashing other members or sending derogatory PM s to them will receive an infraction.

    5. The moderators' decisions will be final in all the above matters.

    Thank you.
