I guess i have created confusion as to how have I put the rangoli.
Here it goes the white outline is done using maida batter using a piece of cloth soaked in it. The batter can be instant. It does not need sitting time. Mix it and let your creativity flow.

the coloring is done with a paint brush.
Hope this clarifies.

Hi Meena,
You can mix the color powder to maida itself and do the borders. May be like brown or black. And contrasting to it you can apply colors. Colors nowadays are mix of maida itself so you can mix it easily to white maida. Try some time.

yes the kolam done by me is for unity in diversity- different Indian fetivals, kolam contains sankranti, diwali for hindus, christmas for christians and Ramzan for muslims. we got second prize for this kolam.
