Parmeet was a cute 8 year old boy who just came home from school, he was really upset.

    "Mommy, " cried Parmeet.

    "What happened, honey?", Mona asked.

"The kids made fun of my turban," said Parmeet sadly.

Mona knew this day would come. When she was younger, she said that she wanted to marry someone who was a Clean-Shaven Sikh, or someone not with a Turban. However, when she meet Gurpreet, she knew he was better than all - even the grooms who rejected Mona for her shortcomings!

"Tomorrow when the kids make fun of your turban, do you know what to ask them?", Mona said.

    Parmeet shook his head.

"Ask them if they would like a turban of their own. Say that your Mom can come to school and teach them how to wear a turban. Then they will be cool." Mona suggested.

    Parmeet looked confused.

"What if they keep making fun of me?" Parmeet asked his mom.

"Well, then ask then whether they would like to try some of your Mom's wonderful Indian cooking," Mona suggested.

    Parmeet still looked confused.

"Honey, just do your best and trust in God Almighty," Mona said as she gave him a tight hug.

    The next day at school.

"Hey Towel Head, why do you wear that," asked Andrew, a blond skinny kid with crooked teeth.

"Would you like a Turban of your own?" Parmeet asked with a forced smile.

Andrew had a blank stare. He didn't know what to say.

"Hey Towel Head, you look like a Pumpkin Head!," said Drew, an overweight kid with freckles.

"My Mom can come to school and show you how to wear a Turban, " replied Parmeet.

Drew had a blank stare. He didn't know what to say.

"Hey Towel Head," said Keith. But Keith didn't know what else to say.

Miss Hall had overheard the entire bullying and defense. It was time to call the children back to class.

"Children, next week is a very special week," Miss Hall said.

"It is International Foods week," Miss Hall continued.

The children got really excited, especially Drew, the overweight kid with freckles.

"I want to you all to ask your parents to cook something from a different Country, and ask them to bring it in next week," Miss Hall continued, smiling at Parmeet.

"And, while we are all eating, I want each one of you to present what food your parent brought, Miss Hall said, smiling at Ryan.

    The children were really excited.

The next week, the parents bought food from different countries.

Mona came with her husband Gurpreet.

Each child got up and talked about mouth-watering dishes such as Cannollis, Paella, etc.

Finally it was Parmeet's turn. His parent bought in two dishes, Samosas and Dosas, because his father was raised in Chennai.

"My Mom always made Samosas. They can be stuffed with vegetables or meat, " Parmeet said.

"My Mom also made Dosas. My Grandmother taught my Mom how to make Dosas because my Dad enjoyed them when he was a kid, " Parmeet explained innocently.

Few of the parents were amused by Parmeet's innocence at the relationship between daughter-in-laws and mother-in-laws, that they giggled.

"Thank you Parmeet," Miss Hall said.

Drew's mother, Nancy turned over to Mona.

"Mrs. Singh, you make delicious food. Drew nearly ate all the Samosas. And my husband loves the Sambar that goes with the Dosas. You must give me the recipe," Nancy said.

"Thank you, I most certainly will," Mona replied.

After that, the kids no longer made fun of Parmeet or his Turban.

"Hey Parmeet, when is your Mom going to cook," Drew asked.

"Why don't you come to my house after school," replied Parmeet.

"OK, " the boys said in unison.
