Questions To Ask Dr About Knee Injection

80 yr old Patient with severe osteoarthritis in left knee was approved for Orthovisc injection, 4 times, once a week

Patient has doubts due to his negative interaction with the Board Certified Knee Dr and his short staffed (and short tempered office)

Did research on Orthovisc on internet and found negative reviews.

Of course if person has positive results, they don’t post it on the Internet.

But one recurring theme across different forums was that if osteoarthritis is very severe there is low chance the knee injection will help

Patient cannot get knee replacement till he gets TAVR for severe aortic stenosis

Please tell me what are good questions to ask Knee Dr. Are these good questions. Please comment.

1. Since osteoarthritis is so severe, how successful will knee injection be?

2. Why not have single injection, Synvisc-One rather than 4 injections of Orthovisc?

3. Will you personally perform the injection? How will you guide the needle, through ultrasound?

4. Will you personally be accessible during the weeks after the shot in case if any reaction!
