    Re: Mutton soup procedure

    hello venkatalakshmi,
I'll give you here a very simple mutton pepper soup recipe that we do normally in our house.

    Ingredients:
Mutton - 1/4 kg (prefer bones and fat )
    Small onions - 1/2 cup
    Garlic - 4-5 pieces
    Pepper - 2 tsps
    cumin (seeragam)- 2 tsps
    Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
    curry leaves -a handful
    coriander leaves
    pudina leaves - a little
    salt
Gingelly oil (nalennai) - 2 tsps

    Method:
Wash and cut the mutton pieces. Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add the mutton pieces. Add turmeric powder and salt. Grind pepper, seeragam, onion, garlic, curry leaves, coriander leaves, pudina to a coarse mixture. Add this to the mutton, and add 2-3 cups of water. Close the cooker and let the mutton cook for 20 mins or 4-5 whistles. Remove from flame and serve the soup hot.

    Baking Chicken

    Hi All,

I am one of the many who has learnt to cook very well after marriage and have been staying in US. I use the oven for baking the chicken.
Now am wondering how to do it or what to buy for baking chicken in India(I dont have an oven there, I do have a microwave with grill but would like you to advise something that you use for baking chicken for recipe like chicken tikka masala).

Please advise... Thanks and have a great day!!!

    Re: Baking Chicken

Thanks Aruna. I checked cooking range and it is pretty expensive. I have the stove etc. already at home, do you know of some other product which is less expensive and serves the purpose of baking

Re: chicken dish with conventional oven

Well do you want to bake the whole chicken or just pieces?? If it is for whole then just season and place in oven at 350 degrees if it is pieces then it will be for 375 degrees.

Re: chicken dish with conventional oven

Yes you can buy seperate trays or just use aluminum foil to cover the tray for each meat. I do that so that I dont have to buy so many trays and it is no mess to wash only throw away the foil when done:) Anymore questions I will answer if you need to know:thumbsup
