Query on EAD

I am an employee of XXX company in India, now in US on L2. I have not resigned my job in India (on 6 months vacation)

Is it possible that I could apply for EAD now? (I will go back to India to resign my job in 6 months)

Pls clarify

Hi vinola,
You can surely apply for ead even if u are in vacation.
After you get ead you can resign and search for a job.

Please note EAD becomes void once you travel out of US.
See if you can resign your indian job without actually visiting to India.

Thanks for your reply..So if I get an EAD now..and go to India to resign my job.
Will EAD become invalid when I come back immediately to US ?

I think so , because on the EAD there is disclaimer which says "Not valid for re-entry to US".

EAD is usually associated with your L2 - I-94 number, so when you leave the country and come back to US, the port of entry will issue a new I-94 card.

I'd suggest you search this in MurthyForum or post it there.

EAD is not allwoed for re-entry but if you have your L2 and your L1 husband is still in US , You can go to India and come back using L2 and you EAD will be valid.

What disclaimer is that you cannot re-enter into US using only EAD and without your husband here
