i remember long back i had watched it in "mirch masala"a tv show on star tv by rakesh sethi,where one of the viewer had posted .

hello all of u,
jilebi is my favourite sweet. i tried making it once after reading a recipe on the net. they asked me to mix the batter using curd. when i fried them in oil, they started to stick to the base of the kadai ( vessel). the whole thing turned out messy as i had to scrape out each one. i dipped them in sugar syrup and set a side. they were not crisp. all of them turned out soft and like rubber band.
i did not understand were i went wrong.
can some one tell me what was my mistake.

HI..I am searching for a famous sweet recipe called AFLATOON..If any of u know this recipe please share..or a similar recipe..I know its made with mawa ,eggs, semolina,sugar,dryfruits n milk.But I wanna know the method to make it..I have surffed the whole web..but could not find this recipe...pls share..thanks

Hi ladies,

I read some two-3 variations of rasgulla and have tried 2 times since then.
the first time as per the recipe I had added two tsp of maida for the amount of milk as was mentioned in the recipe. It didnt cook well and it was all flour inside.

Second time, read some two -3 recipes and this time added just a pinch of maida.
and Pressure cooked the balls. I used lemon juice to separate the whey from the milk.

But still it didnt puff up at all. Though it was cooked completely, but still the feel of eating rasgullas didnt come.

Can you all post what all to do and what not to do while making rasgullas. I understand this is the most simplest of all sweet recipes, yet why doesnt it come out correctly?
