Thanks Vandhana for the idea of doing pumpkin soup!
The pumpkins i am talking about are those apart from the 'jack o lanterns'.
Do you know that this time we had 'white pumkins' also alongwith the orange--traditional one!
BTW I like your avatar! What do you say, am I right or wrong:wink:

    :biggrin2::biggrin2: Sri,

You are right and I am not wrong. Hows that? hey where did you get whole white pupkins? I can only get the cut piece ( not talking about blouse bits here!!). But I just freeze it. lasts longer this way , and easier to cook with also.

    have a great weekend

    Vandhana,
You get those white pumpkins along with the orange ones in the regular dept. stores.
Here we get it in Walmart.
yesterday my husband told me that they were of the same price as that of the orange pumpkin, but the price has been reduced so low that it is unbelievable it is 50cents for the white pumpkin and 1 dollar for the regular orange--Halloween pumpkin.
My husband is the one who goes to the market every week or end because I don;t know driving moreover i had to be with my mil all the time. Sometimes children accompany him if they want anything from the store.
As my cousin put down as ---you know what is happening around the world only through your husband, right!:-:)-D
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

    Hi sriniketan,

I meant thogaiyal and also thokku. then gravy we chose double beans because that is not sweet.peas, channa are little on the sweeter side..
you can also try with other beans with balancing the tomatoes, chillies accordingly.

if it is white pumpkin, you can make koftas just like lauki..it tastes good..., some just grind it with rice and little urad and make dosas, then you can make the vadiyalu..but i doubt with winter setting in drying will be a problem right...

    Hi Shanthi,
Thank you for your ideas and recipes to be made with the 'excess pumpkin'.
You are right, as the weather is cold we cannot make that 'vadaam'. But koftas and the dosas look great!
    will try in coming days!
