Fresh Peas cooks very fast in both Pressure Cooker & Microwave. If its dried ones, soak it and take few more minutes to cook.

    Microwave Cooking :
One Cup of Fresh Green Peas + enough water in Micro safe bowl
Micro 100% high for 3-5 minutes. Stir once or twice in between.
Boiled Green Peas ready in 5mins !!! :cheers
Have a look at the picture of that I made 2 days back.

MAKING OF SPROUTS : (without a Sprouts Maker)

I got the basic recipe from : MIXED SPROUTS Recipe - by Tarla Dalal and made few changes according to my need......

    1. Take about 4 cups of Mixed Pulses. Wash them well. I took - Channa (white, green & brown), Peas (green & Yellow), Soya Bean (Yellow & White), Rajma, Mochai, Double Beans and Horse Gram.

    Mixed Beans.JPG

    2. Soak them in enough water. Water should be more than double the volume of the Pulses.

    Mixed Beans soaked.JPG

    3. The Pulses after soaked for 5 hours : You can see how they have increased in Volume :

    4. Drain all the water. Place them in a big bottle or jar. Cover with a cloth and secure it with a rubber band.
    5. Leave them for 6-8 hours. Then keep in fridge over night.

    6. Next day, wash, drain and keep in bottle for 6 hours. Refrigerate overnight.
    7. On 3rd day, wash, drain and the Healthy Sprouts are ready to be used!!!

Can store them in Fridge for several days.

Find my earlier posts in this thread to know about cooking of Sprouts.... also checkout the recipes that our dear ILs have tried!!!

Hey it just happened to see this thread and very much informative.
My dad's everyday breakfast is all types of sprouts and he is diabetic and 62 years very healthy, he prepares this by himself as he has to live in different place due to his business work.
When ever we talk in the phone , he will be asking me that to start taking the sprouts everyday.
Once I did , but have to finish it by myself that to for a week.

One tip i.e my Dad's if you mix the soaked peanuts a small amount in the sprouts salad will give more taste.

    I tryed it tastes yummy.

but lazy to do all this things , but after going through this thread want to get the sprout maker as Narra suggested and have it atleast twice in a week.

hey Custard thank for starting this thread lot of information to be healthy.

Was not following my Dad's advice ,but I feel now after this all info want to start this right now having sprouts everyday.
