    [FONT=comic sans ms, sans-serif]black gram dal : 1 tea spoon[/FONT]

    [FONT=comic sans ms, sans-serif]redchillis: 4[/FONT]

    [FONT=comic sans ms, sans-serif]jeera: 1 teaspoon[/FONT]

    [FONT=comic sans ms, sans-serif]mustard seeds: 1 teaspoon[/FONT]

    [FONT=comic sans ms, sans-serif]dhaniya: 1 teaspoon[/FONT]

    [FONT=comic sans ms, sans-serif]dalchini: a small piece[/FONT]

    [FONT=comic sans ms, sans-serif]jaggery powder: 1 1/2 tea spoon[/FONT]

    [FONT=comic sans ms, sans-serif]tamarind paste : 2tspn[/FONT]
    [FONT=comic sans ms, sans-serif]oil: to fry[/FONT]

    [FONT=comic sans ms, sans-serif]salt to taste[/FONT]

    [FONT=comic sans ms, sans-serif]what to do: [/FONT]

    [FONT=comic sans ms, sans-serif]clean pudina leaves [/FONT]

    [FONT=comic sans ms, sans-serif] In a pan heat oil and add mustard seeds, jeera, coriander(dhaniya), dalchini, moong dal, bengalgram(this is optional). [/FONT]

    [FONT=comic sans ms, sans-serif] fry them till red.[/FONT]

    [FONT=comic sans ms, sans-serif] now add red chillies ,tamarind paste[/FONT]

    [FONT=comic sans ms, sans-serif]and pudina leaves[/FONT]

    [FONT=comic sans ms, sans-serif]switch off the stove immeditialy after adding pudina , cover with a lid.[/FONT]

    [FONT=comic sans ms, sans-serif] cool it and grind to paste.[/FONT]

    Nice and simple recipe. I am surprised to see you are adding dalchini in chutneys. Never did it. Will try and let you know... thanks for sharing Mahi... :)

    it is called "karuvapatta" or "Elavanga Tholi"(Malayalam) or "dalchini" (Hindi). Cinnamon in english.
    and Pattai in Tamil.

    Soothes indigestion, controls blood sugar in diabetics, prevents stomach ulcers, wards off urinary tract infections, fights tooth decay and gum disease, prevents vaginal yeast infections.
