hi,this is a subject which is very close to my heart. this is a problem every women face in India. whenever we go out ther is if we have use the toilet there is none. for men it is available in most of the places. for women there is none. I always wonder why this problem or the issue is not taken seriously till now. in some magazine i have seen men writing about it. hardly i have come across any woman writing about it. in this regard i want to share a blog from times of india by abantika ghosh. Hi Bhuvani, I endorse your views fully. We fail to recognize this basic civic need ... The problem is men in spite of being in 21 st century still shamelessly make steet s, backs of trees, even transformers their rest public restrooms and women have a real problem when they go out. Why, even schools ,colleges ,banks, offices,temple complexes etc, do not have enough decent neat restrooms for women. Some radical change should be brought about.
This is a very interesting topic and infact i have also never seen it being raised anywhere. Women infact are more concerned about thier basic rights, eve teasing....etc, nobody is bothered about such things. It is just expected out of women that they will hold their pee on all the way.... or they will never pee... However in some places in Goa I did come across sulabh Shouchalyas which were okay not hygenic only okay atleast for name they did exist. Hygine is something wich is very much lacking in the Indian society. We will keep our homes clean but of course not our responsibility to keep our community clean. Rgds,
