    Hi all,

I'm seeking a genuine answer to this question.

I have always been helping people around me and guiding them in ways on the path I have already walked or on topics I already know. Many years ago, I would go out of my way and help people. For eg, if a close friend is dealing with their teen kid, I gave moral support to friend to stay calm. If this younger cousin is trying to find a job, I helped her with resume prep etc. I'm a spiritual person and believed that doing karma is important. From childhood I have been listening to - do good and good will come back to you. Now fast forward to many years of helping people - I feel drained and not being reciprocated when I need help. These same people will be busy in their lives when I reach out to.

Recently, I have been seeing some psychic healers' videos on YT and one of them told that there should be energy exchange with anyone to whom you are doing some service, otherwise there will be blockages in energies and imbalance.

Can someone share their opinion on what they feel about this? I'm beginning to see some reason in psychic healers' opinion, maybe because I'm getting relief from that premise.

Ok, go ahead and have peace. You need to explore all avenues to get that state of mind. Also self help is the best help, they say. Once we stop looking for help from outside resources, our mind gets out of the panic mode and starts functioning in a proper manner. Find out options within your control for solutions. It is all within us, which can open the impossible doors. Wishes.

I don’t think that is true
You help without expecting anything back
Based on that concept you tend to invest time or money or physical work to help others . You get satisfaction from helping someone . Don’t invest too much time thinking about the past .

this is a very good thread.
    leave the psychic part.

correct me . you did help all which is very noble but deep within you did expect them to reciprocate. the reciprocation was not expected in form of actual help. it could be even just a phone call , inquiring how are you doing. and as you grow older you realize things do not work and there are very few who actually even reciprocate.

actually @kaluputti did answer, but you are looking for a affirmation of an idea inside that you want to hear from others.
i cannot suggest this or that. but i can say try to introspect inside on what actions makes you happy, it could be as simple as buying a dress or joining a expensive class. it could be even helping others. but you need to understand that that action of helping is making you happy. but you cannot analyze beyond that on reciprocation. because in that case, you would have to be selective on who you help .

Yes ma....everyone will only say that helping others with a future expectation is a negative tendency. Actually I thought of an answer to that effect, but contained myself. Because it is human tendency, but we humans have an intellect with which we can watch our thoughts, discriminate to do something or not. I am not talking about right or wrong. A lot more can be said about this, but would like to stop here with the words that "all help is within ourselves if only we tap it". Wishes for a relief to you.

I’m not sure if I have enough knowledge to fully address your topic, but from my own experiences, I can relate to some of what you’ve shared.

As humans, we should strive to be compassionate and help others whenever possible. Being in a position to give is itself a blessing. I often pray to God to keep me in this role of giving rather than being on the receiving end. If God has chosen you to be a provider, trust that it’s a privilege. Use the gifts you’ve received to uplift others because God is entrusting you to be a channel of His blessings.

Karma is real, though its mechanisms are often a mystery. When your intentions are pure and you act with goodness, the universe will return it to you in some form. Similarly, actions driven by ill intentions will also find their consequences—so always be mindful.

However, not everyone will appreciate your efforts. Here’s where energy exchange comes into play. When you connect with someone who shares your aura, they’ll recognize your intentions without you needing to explain. Such people will value your help deeply, creating a meaningful and positive bond for both of you.

On the other hand, if the person’s energy clashes with yours, even your best efforts might feel unappreciated or criticized. This can leave you questioning why you tried to help in the first place.

Remember, this doesn’t affect your karma. Your actions are your responsibility; their response is theirs. Trust in your intentions and continue to give with an open heart, be it emotional or physical or even financial support.
