    My dear, dear Sudha !

I understand why you quickly endorsed Indhu.
Well, you are applauding Indhu and by doing that, you are pleasing her brother as well !
As I have already written once

I can imagine how sad it is, not being able to " reel off" in one's own mother-tongue !
This way, I am going to miss you very much, when you go on your holiday !

    Couple of things...

    Chitivsh,

You are giving good collections of proverbs. I got to read them only today. I was off the site for sometime and I see you have already given so many.

    Coming to this proverb...

Does it mean it will be very heavy rain that even bullocks get scared? Or is there any ulartham to it?

Have you heard of this? Without your explanations these proverbs would have been so for me :tongue

    very nice,

    Dear Chith,
The proverb threads are very entertaining and most of them unheard. I paticularly liked proverb 5,do not agree with 17 , and feel the last one is too true.
Keep up the good hard !work
    Regards,
    Meenu

This is just a nice coincidence - when we do something inadvertantly, there is a favourable result which we did'nt expect to happen !

    Dear Chithra,
you are really rocking. Many of this week's collection are new to me. I enjoyed them very much. I use some proverbs while conversing even now. We sisters used to always do that. Now we do not get a chance to meet together. When one is free, the other is held up. Naayai kandal kallai kaanom, kallai kandal naayai kaanom .
There is an interesting story to "ee adichan kappi". One person copied from another's book. There was a dead fly in one of the pages. The copying person killed a fly with great difficulty and stuck it as in the book. That is why it is said like that.
    Poovoda chernthu naarum manaththutham.
(I have to install the unicode somehow)

Thanks for joining me , Varloo. Please stay tuned.

    Some leftovers in ஈ

Some of the proverbs are obvious; others require some straining of our senses to grasp the real import. I want all of you including the great Pazhamozhi Thilakam to come out with your intrepretation for each of the proverb. To keep it funny each ILite attempt just one proverb and render it in English with your own explanation.
Finally the Thilakam will correct your intrepretation. Howzzat?
    regards,
    sridhar

    Here's my brave attempt:)

    "Ee eri malai kulungiyadhu pol.."

    Englishification:
It is like the mountain shook when the fly climbed it…
    Ha ha ha……
    To explain the proverb……
Kamla tried to explain the ‘palamozhi’ to ILites, ala Chitra…Ee eri malai kulungiyadhu pol……..

    Howzzat Sridhar?;))

    My dear Kamla !

So long as I am not compared to a mountain ( ofcourse in what, you know), it is fine with me !
    Sridhar,
The so named Thilakam is no patch on you ! - you beat her hollow with so many more in "ஈ".
All said & done, ezuththaalar ezuththaalar thaan !
    Love & regards,
    Chithra.
