Dear Chithra, Lovely set of Proverbs in "Ka". Enjoyed all of them espaecially the one :son is a son till he get a wife, but daughter is a daughter till end of life. Dear Chitra, It is another good set of proverbs from you. I liked proverbs 4 and 15. still my chithi is a good friend to me. 15 is very true. A son can give a good care to the parents, but only daughter gives emotional support especially to the mother. This is what my mother says. Enjoyed reading all proverbs. regards, kodi.

Since in general that habit is dying gradually, I started this thread more for everyone to know the vesataliy of tamil, even in regular conversation. My dear Jothi, I am very happy that you have joined us here. Praying for a son, is so deeply ingrained in our Indian, psychology, I suppose. We are 2 daughters & luckily, my parents have never missed a son. We, sisters, always tease our mother " எங்களிடம் தான் உங்க பாச்சா எல்லாம் பலிக்கும். மாட்டுபெண் இருந்தால் ஒன்றும் நடந்திருக்காது" !
