    Hullo Chitra Madam
    Nice set of proverbs.
I have noticed that we, at home, dont use proverbs in speech. I think I should start it ! It would be so much more interesting and colourful !:)

(Have you seen the proverbs listed by Singai Krishnan in Tamilnation.org ?

    Regards
    Manjula

    Dear Chitra,

It is another good set of proverbs from you. I liked proverbs 4 and 15. still my chithi is a good friend to me. 15 is very true. A son can give a good care to the parents, but only daughter gives emotional support especially to the mother. This is what my mother says. Enjoyed reading all proverbs.

    regards,
    kodi.

I love 15 very much. I am one of three sisters in my family. No sons. I know my parents longed for a son, they still do...
this proverb is so true these days but I guess people are reluctant to face the music....even my parents..

here is one more proverb in ka(sorry i dont have tamil font)

kal aanaalum kanavan pul aanaalum purushan..

    regards,
    jothi.

    My dear Manjureddy,
    Thankyou for joining us here.
Ever since my childhood & later as well, proverbs have been a part of my life ! Even now , when I talk to my friends over the phone, quoting pazamozis is inevitable ! Since in general that habit is dying gradually, I started this thread more for everyone to know the vesataliy of tamil, even in regular conversation.
Since I have a large collection myself, I don't look into the net for fear of being tempted to reproduce them here !
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Dear Aishu,
Thankyou very much for the F B.
As DIL, no woman will like that proverb, but as daughters, we cannot deny it as well !
May God bless you with a Sweet daughter !
    Love,
    Chithra.

    My dear Jothi,
I am very happy that you have joined us here.
Praying for a son, is so deeply ingrained in our Indian, psychology, I suppose.
    We are 2 daughters & luckily, my parents have never missed a son. We, sisters, always tease our mother " எங்களிடம் தான் உங்க பாச்சா எல்லாம் பலிக்கும். மாட்டுபெண் இருந்தால் ஒன்றும் நடந்திருக்காது" !
My sister looks after my mother - can't help saying, it has taken a load off my mind.
Thanks for the F B, Jothi.
    Love,
    Chithra.
