Hiiii Hema,

I faced similar problems after my delivery.I was constantly bleeding but not heavily...Atleast spotting used to be there.I consulted my Gyna...She said its normal.But after 40days after my delivery,it dint stop...she asked me to wait for 1-2 weeks after which when i consulted her as there was no change.Then she took a scan and identified that the placenta tissue was not completely washed out after my C-section.Some tissue was still inside my uterus.So she adviced me to undertake D&C to clean off my uterus.That went on and then we waited for few more days,still the bleeding dint stop,same spotting.The doctor was confused as why this was still happening and then we took 3-4 scans and consulted 2-3 Gynas (my Gyna adviced me to go for consultations) to confirm that the placenta was still left out and then went for a Hysteroscope....another minor keyHole surgery.

After this only, the problem got resolved.So after my C-section, i had to undergo 2 minor surgeries.So altogether i underwent 3 operations(1 C-Section and Post-delivery) and my uterus has become really weak.

I am not scaring you.But just giving you a caution as this issue in case not attended properly can cause lot of problems.Whatever i had faced, i seriously dont want any other mother to face.

No Periods - 10 mnths of delivery

dear ILS,
I had my normal delivery in August 2009. I was bleeding for 40days after delivery. Its almost 10mnths that i havent get my regular cycle. Im frequently getting irritated, tired and have severe back and leg pains. But the pains are not as the same symptom as we get for periods. Please let me know is it normal to get suchhhh delay?? Also, when i met a gync, she gave me one tablet to get the periods. But am bit hesitant to go with that. I would prefer a natural thing.. Please advice.

Are you breast feeding? If so my gyn told me it's normal to go without a period for 6 months to a year.

Though changes are very low, do you suspect you may be pregnant?

lactational amenorrhoea - not getting your periods when you are breastfeeding - can vary from 6 weeks to even two years and more. I got my first PP periods at 10 months, a couple of months after introducing solids. Others in my family got it at 10 weeks PP to 24 months PP. I know of women who had it only after 30 months PP - yes they were bfing their children pretty much on demand till then. So, yes, you are in the range of normal.
I would not take the meds now, either. What you write here about cramps does sound like premenstrual cramping. Your fertility maybe around the corner. HTH.

i have twokids.1st was normal and 2nd a c sec.after both delveries i got my periods excatly one yr after.that too after my 1st delivery i gotmy peirods exactly the next day of my daughter's 1st bday..so nothing to worry.

dont worry abt that it's pretty normal. plus once your periods come back, then your milk supply goes down a bit with every menstrual cycle. so enjoy the period free time as long as you can!

Sorry for the delayed reply..But just wanna to share my exp..My baby s 6 months old..I was also bleeding for almost 45 days after delivery and t was a c-section..I got periods only this month..And I feel milk s getting reduced after this..I cannot fill my kid's stomach and using formula milk..I have heard few ladies will get only after 1 r 2years.so no need to worry..
