Re: Periods thrice in a month...is it red signal?

One of my aunts had this pbm and if I remember right, she consulted thyroid specialist and got this corrected after taking treatment.

Other than this, I have no idea why and how.

Hi Aspirant,

My mother had the similar problem when she was nearing menopause. My mother had her menopause at 50. However, it may differ from case to case. You can still have a second opinion in this case.

In case you have done all the tests then thyroid as Soumya mentioned can be checked.

I delivered 3 weeks before, but still i am bleeding

Hi friends,

I delivered Baby girl on Jan11th, it was vagial delivery with 2deg tear, after I diluted 4cm, I had severe pain then I decided to take Epidural, It helped me in whole delivery process. no pain at all, I felt like heaven. I was diluted 10cm within 41/2 hrs and nurse helped me in pushing process coz my legs and down portion was numb. with in 20min's(Pushing) I saw my baby.

My concern is still I am bleeding very little (it is dark brown color) I have no help @ home from day 1 Iam using staircases, doing house cores and exclusively Bfeeding my baby. In my whole Pregnancy I gained 32pounds, right now i look like normal ( I believe I lost all that 32 pounds) need to check my wt, I still have to wait for 2more weeks to see my Gyn....

It is quite common to bleed for atleast a mnth after your delivery.I would still advise you to avoid climbing stairs as much as possible. My doctor advised me to avoid stairs as much as possible for the first two weeks.I still used to climb up and down atleast 3-4 times a day and get all the things needed from upstairs and keep it downstairs to avoid excess climbing.

Prachee,
Glad to hear about your delivery.
As sunitha said, bleeding will be there till one month and some cases it might go one and half months aswell. Dont worry, just wait for doctor appointment.
Dont be a super woman by using staircase and all household chores, take enough rest and spend quality time with your baby!!!:thumbsup
Take your DH's help rather in getting few household chores. Though its difficult to mangae alone, but our ILites are doing really great alone.

Enjoy your motherhood!!!

Prachee, I am a little concerned that you have lost all 32 lbs you gained, so soon. I'd think losing pregnancy weight completely after 6 months PP is the norm. It is good that you are being active - great actually, but you may need to scale down a little so that you dont burn out. The bleeding sounds normal to me, I had lochia the first two weeks and then bleeding whenever I strained a little bit more with chores.

Re: Bleeding after delivery

Hema,
Postpartum bleeding is quite normal and will last max upto 6 weeks. So, may be it will be reduced soon. But excessive bleeding(one pad for an hour), then it can be Postpartum Hemorrhaging
Warning signs would be -
•
bright red discharge for more than seven days after birth
discharge that smells bad
fever and chills
• abnormally heavy bleeding (in which a maxi pad is soaked in less than one hour)
This migh be due to - uterus was unable to contract after birth

failure to pass all of your Placenta
forced removal of the placenta
trauma to the uterus, cervix, or vagina during delivery
Try to see your gynic and get all tests done and this needs to be treated.
But as per your condition, check till this weekend if bleeding is stopped and see doctor.

Periods in 15days

Hi Ladies,

I delivered my son in Nov, 2009. I got my 1st periods in March 1st week and then again my periods came last week(just 3weeks gap). Is this normal after delivery? Do I need to meet my GYN?

Am gymming 5days a week and is this reason for early periods? let me know..

Re: Periods in 15days

Anitha, I had this experience with my first born. It doesn't sound abnormal and then may be you won't see this in another 6 weeks next month. I was so worried that I was preggo. I believe it takes a while to get back on the schedule.
