    Bad Headache

    Hello,

I delivered my baby 2 months back. It was a c-section and I took spinal anesthesia. I was given pain killers for about a month. While I was about to stop the painkillers,I started having headache. I checked with my doctor and she asked me to take Tylenol. She clearly said that these headaches are no symptom of withdrawal of pain killers. But now its been more than a month and I am noticing the increase in headache and at times it is really worse and unbearable. I also have dizziness. Can anyone help me out in knowing what it is? Is this common post pregnancy? I am breastfeeding my baby. I am also feeling weak post pregnancy. How do I regain my strength?

    Thanks
    Cutebaby

    Cutebaby,

I dont know about the headache post csection. Regarding the weakness , its common after delivery. Even my LO is 2 months, exclusively breast fed and I used to feel tired initially . Then I started taking the multivitamins the ones which I took during my pregnancy- calcium/Magnesium, Folic acid and the DHA supplement. I feel far better and energetic then. Also make sure to include green vegetables , fruits and lots of water in your diet.

Though extremely rare, the epidural in itself can be a reason for the headaches. Here is a link.Does this sound like anything you have.
I have seen an increase in headaches, esp migraines, ever since pregnancy and I know my hormones are out of whack! Hugs, feel better soon.

    Cutebaby,
I dont have headaches but was very weak and tired after delivery. i had severe leg pain, due to constantly running around house and doing chores. i tried physical therapy etc but none helps. even after 3 yrs still i feel very weak and tired and leg aches. the multivitamin helps but not that much, i realized it is very important to take good rest and eat healthy food after delivery. for headache try some relaxation techniques or yoga. i used to get migraine and after trying yoga it stopped but this was all before preg.

Cutebaby are you drinking enough water? BF requires extra fluid consumption, atleast 1.5 liters per day or else you will feel very tired. also, make sure and take a multi-vitamin, calcium-magenesium and dha supplement. it's good for you and for your baby. also the lack of continual sleep with a 2 month old around will make you more tired. rest as much as you can and drink lots more water. it should help within a few days.

    Re: Bad Headache

I also had headaches initially when my first one was born.My doctor said that could be the reason due to lack of sleep and rest. Are you getting enough rest.Since your LO is just 2 months, you might be getting up frequently in the night for breastfeeding, changing diapes, which might disturb your sleep.

Have enough naps if possible,Drink lots of water .I still remember if I used to sit on the computer for just 5 mins after I my LO was born(say once she was 2 months),I used to get headaches just by looking at the screen.

If it is still severe talk to your doctor

    Dear ILs,

Thank you so much for your suggestions and opinions. I consulted a good doc. This is because of lack of fluid and lack of sleep, as few of you guessed it rightly.

    Re: post pregnancy

    Aruna,
This is quite normal and dont worry.
As this is the first periods after delivery, it will be heavy and normally lasts for a week. If its extended, get in touch with your gynic.

Periods thrice in a month...is it red signal?

Moderator: Please move this thread if posted in appropriate place.

    Hi friends,

My mom is struggling with this problem. She is getting her period 3times in a month in the last month. That too it was over bleeding. She is becoming so pale and weak. I am worried about her health. Even before she used to get for once in 20days for the last 2years.

When she visited gynaecologist 3months ago, she was told that no problem in her uterus, stomach and even she went through papsmear test.

My mom age is 42years. She has no major health problems so far. We two born in normal delivery only.

Some of her friends are saying that it is common to get irregular periods before menopause since she is reaching that age.

But,I am worried whether this is a big problem or not. Can any of you please let me know is it normal at this age.

    Thank you so much friends.
