    Re: Post delivery problems

    Hai everyone,

I met the doctor for a follow-up. She told me that I have to take fibre-supplement for life-long. She said that though hemorrhoids go away there are always chances that they could come back at any point of time, especially when constipation happens. And if they do come back, they could be minor or severe than what I had this time.

So I am wondering is it really true. Have any of you had hemorrhoids. If yes, please tell me your experiences, what caused it to occur in the first place, how did you treat the same and are you continuing to take any medicines?

    Amitha

    Re: Post delivery problems

    Hi Amitha

I'm very sorry to hear all your problems, my prayers are with you. and that too going through all this with 2 small kids and family to take care of, its really difficult.

My mom (we are pure vegetarians) had hemorrhoids and still has problems related to it, she had it first time, post delivery only, that is the time when you are most prone to this problem. But then she was fine for many years, and then it was again aggravated, horribly when i was probably 14-15 years old, so you can see it can emerge again. When she had it again it was soo horrible that she was totally drained out and she had a lot of blood loss. doctors were also scared, but surgery is also not a permanent solution. We did a homeopathic course, also took Potassium baths at home only, which helped a lot.

There is a very famous homeopathic medicine for hemorrhoids, it is called "FP-200". You could order it online, its probably Rs. 35 or so, no harm trying it as Homeopathic medicine doesnt have any side effects. 4 tabs 3-4 times a day it might help you. it also helps in minor constipation and the horrible piles trouble as well.

A few pointers, non veg stuff can really worsen things, stop using red Chillies completely, in food, only use green chillies, that too in limit.

    All the best
    Take care

    Re: Post delivery problems

    Hai Shine,

Thanks for the reply. Believe me, they are pain in the A--. To add to the already existing pain, there is constant itching, burning and swelling. I had the most horrible time of my life during June 2008. I am 30 years old and this stands out as the worst possible pain that I have had so far in my life. I am so scared of this now that I strictly watch out for what I eat.

I don't mind putting myself on fibre supplements, but I am breastfeeding my second one now and I do not want to overload myself with too many medications. Whatever the doctors say, medicines will go to baby through breastmilk. So I am very concerned about trying other medicines also.

There are so many Homeopathy medicines available on the internet. I am really tempted to try, but scared that it will have some adverse effect on my baby.

Anyway I want to know after the hemorrhoids were treated second time for your mother - did they go away completely? Is she still taking any medicines? What diet does she follow? By any chance is this heredity? Because my Late father had some similar problem, which my mother is not able to explain. So I am just curious. More because I am worried about my kids, if this is a heredity problem.

Please tell me in detail. Thanks in advance.

    Amitha

    Re: Post delivery problems

    Hi Amitha

My mother is not taking any medications on regular basis for her piles. But once in a while when she has some problem, she does keep FP-200 with her all the time and she takes it believe me its a very good medicine and homeopathic medicine has no side effect however i'm not sure of its ok during nursing.

It is not hereditery, it is basically a lifestyle disease, if you dont eat right you have it. As far as the diet is concerned, my mother is a pure vegetarian, and now my mom dad don't use red chillies much, but ya once in a while they do.

I dont think fibre supplement is a medicine, and it should not effect your breast feeding, it would only do good and no harm.

    Take care

    post-partum period

    Hello ladies..
I had a baby girl by c-section on 8/8/08 so its been almost 7 weeks. Its just that I had stopped any post natal bleeding after 2 weeks of delivery. I had some spotting for like 3 more weeks then completely nothing for 1 week. Only recently I have started spotting again for the past 4-5 days. It only happens after I wake up in the morning, first I thought it was my period ( I'm BF anyways) so I took a pad but then nothing the whole day. The next day same thing happened after waking up and nothing the whole day. I get cramps after bleeding ( sometimes more then spotting) it feels like I'll get my period but then nothing happens. I called my gynec and she said maybe its period or maybe my uterus is cleaning itself out or I'm disturbing my healing uterus by picking up something heavy. The blood is usually dark red and sometimes light pink.
Please let me know what are your thoughts....

    Re: post-partum period

Congratulations on your LO, what a way to enter this world 8/8/8. My son was born 6-12-6. Geek boy!:rotfl
Anywho, could it be the 6 week bleed, postpartum? If I had a particularly strenuous day, I did bleed a little more the next few days. I dont think Gyn look at it as a period if the bleed happens before 9 weeks. Happy babymoon!

    Hi Tikka...

I had my periods after 5 weeks of delivery. My doctor finds it normal.

    Take care.

Interesting you should say this, amicable. 'Cause I needed to have a small correction at 6 weeks pp and I wanted to reschedule it because I thought I was menstruating. Turned out to be six week bleed and random spotting. I got my first PP period at 11 months! I guess, it depends on the woman.

thanks Krithika and Amicable for your replies. Yep, it will definitely be easy to remember her B'day. I havn't had any spotting for the past 2 days, so I guess it wasn't my period... thanks anyways...
