    wow..very nice mandapam ...you can also add blinking lights on the corners and also include artificial diyas with small bulbs..

    Thanks for all your kind words. From our India trip, I have acquired some items like thoran with bells. We need to make the doors and then complete the shelf. Will post an updated picture once everything is complete.

    Wonderful Mandap. Pictures are also arranged very nicely. Whenever I go someone's house I always see their pooja room.
    Now a days everything is possible if we have interest in that.

    Thank you sudha and viji for your wonderful remarks. My husband is very handy in this (some of my colleagues tell me so...) :lol:

    He has good sense of decoration, and patience too :)

    I have told him to do some more decoration like the kumbam (crown) and some more carvings. Once he finishes them I'll post an updated picture.

    Dear Uma,

    wonderful mandap and its decoration, I am little thrilled as I also did similar kind of decoration but small one, :cheers I will post my picture soon. you can see the following suggestions for more decoration.

    1. I added garland to the wall too above the mandap for more decoration

    2.I also placed two electric candles on the top of mandap and our Indian stepped electric diyas inside the mandap.(bought from micheals, you can also get from christmas tree shops) .

    3. Garlanded the the mandap with golden thread with bells(which I got from dollar shop during christmas time, which western people use for decorating christmas tree)

    4. Also placed artificial daisy flowers (actually pinned them ) to mandam garlands here and there in the corners.

    Great work... please pass my appreciation to your husband. it shows devotion.
