Hi ladies, Hope you are all well.

I was told by alteast a couple of people that we should not keep bell/ghanta at home. I have one at the pooja mandir which I treat like any other God and use on auspicious days. I have always thought it brings positivity and since I heard otherwise wanted to check with you all..

Also I was told not to use single wick lamp looking like hour glass.

Have anyone of you heard something like this?

To my knowledge no where is it laid down that we should not keep a bell in the puja room. In fact , for most puja aarthis, we do use the bell - being a mangal sound for the completion of the puja.
As regards using single wick, u are right. The wicks for lighting of puja room lamp should preferably be double , and lit as a single one. It is also preferable to light 2 lamps if u are using the single wick diyas.
The pancha mukhi lamps with 5 wicks is lit for big festivals and auspicious occasions at home.

On what basis those people said I don't know but generally daily puja starts with ghanta nadham. In nithya puja vidhi books also mentioned this.

Generally single wick won't use for God.
