Didn’t watch it yet..

How is it comparable to ps1?

 

Me too didn't watch ps2 yet..but heard many negative response about the film...have to watch it this week..

 

The stars were participating in some discussion about playing their role in PS2 broadcast in tamil Vijay Tv Sports channel as an interlude in the ongoing T20 matches. It is repeated often at some point if time in this channel. Participants include vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Nizhalgal Ravi, karthi ( Surya’s bro) & others.

 

I seem to have forgotten the book, not sure how much things got deviated from the book, but I know it has deviated quiet a bit.

The movie though seems to have been satisfying for those who didn't read the book. Everything seems to have tied up in the end.

Kalki seems to have taken his own liberties on the story telling. Can't blame Mani for what he did and looks like Mani made wise choices.

Overall, Kudos to Mani to bring this to screen.

My favorite character ( kandha maran's sister ) seems to have been chopped off and not surprising, it would been very little screen time. My other favorite character ( poonguzazhi ) also did not get her due.

 

I felt PS1 was better compared to PS2.. even though i say all the negative points below, still definitely must watch in theatres... As a die hard fan of PS story, i am happy to see the story on screen..

Many important things were not portrayed properly including Madhurandhagan's change..
Mandhagini , poong and sendhan amudhan characters wasted...

Aishwarya's make up also not good in many places....

I really didnt like the way they showed nandini didnt know anything about her birth.. Then why shuld nandini have that much vengeance on karikalan.. Not much sense to me..

Karikalan and nandini's final conversation.. not convincing..

Rashtra kooda war.. they didnt even show a single elephant in the war sequence..
not much horses.. more people, elephants and horses needed for climax right..
Atleast in VFX....

He got good money in PS1, could have spent a little more..

Didnt do much justice to the book according to me.. Making wise also i am not able to feel the chola kingdom's beauty or the grandness or anything..

 

I agree.with your points.

I think movie 2 shooting was mostly complete before part 1 released.

Couple of things:


1. The story is way too complicated to tell to those who didn't read the book and that too with too much to say in part 2

2. We were not sure how the mainstream actors will be able to pull off such characters and all of them exceeded our expectations in part 1. So there wasn't that satisfaction on part 2 in this front.
