    @sociallifein30s,

    The euphoria we get while standing in dharshan is unique and it is difficult to describe the feeling. We experience bliss. After I finished CA, I was looking for opportunities to go to Thirupathi. I came to know a friend whose family was visiting Thirupathi every month and it was such a delightful experience to go with him and his family every month to have dharshan of the Lord.

    I clearly miss that opportunity living in the US and hopefully, I will get another opportunity to visit Thirumala again soon.

    Thanks fo
    thanks for the inputs Viswa Sir. I am glad to note your lovely experience by foot to the hill and the darshans you had. Compared to the duration that one can have near or at sanctum today, to have a darshan for Fifteen minutes at close proximity at sanctum is heave-sent indeed. It was one of the places of pilgrimage that my dad and mom insisted to visit immediately a day after my marriage in 1975.
    With parents, spouse & I spent a lovely time and within few hours of moving in queue , we had very comfortable darshan of Perumal. With family and my daughter & son last visited in 1998.

    I wish you had commented on the story and thomas manroe too.

    Thank you for the tag Thyagu sir! I had no idea about the pongal prasadam at Tirupathi or the involvement of an Englishman! The ladoo from Tirupathi is what I connect as prasadam from there. Now all that talk about pongal and ladoos is making me crave for pongal vada and chakkara pongal and also ladoo :grimacing:

    I have heard about Thomas Manroe before. In fact, many British officers of pre-independence were awe-struck with the Temples and the power of God and Goddess when they ruled India. In fact, many have met Ramana Maharishi and many others and learned about the mystic qualities of such teachers. I consider those events as the blessed souls from far away getting a good climpse of the divinity in India. It also shows how clear those officers are in speaking their mind and how unaffected they are by their traditions, cultures and religious practices. They are open to learn more from other religions. I wish more of us try to understand other traditions, culture and religious practices.
