I wish to apply fall to saree

Rather than buy fabric and manually create the fall I already have leftover fabric from when I trimmed a very long skirt

however the length of that fabric is 2.43 meters

On the Internet it says fall must be 3 meters

Ladies please give your real life experience.

How short can a saree fall be?

    Is 2.43 meters okay?

    Who else shall I tag?

    1. check your existing saree, how long fall actually is and if you have to miss few inches, how much is acceptable.
    2. If you still need to add few inches, find coordinating fabric of same weight, and attach to current fall strip. Iron out very well before attaching. You might have some remnants from fall fabric( you said from skirt), that you can harvest pieces from and join. Since it is underneath, nobody is going to look.

That is a brilliant idea, i.e. to harvest pieces and join.

I have another piece from a satin petticoat that I cut the hem off. It is 1.5 meters

The 1.5 meter fabric is heaver than the 2.43 meter cotton fabric.

I am wondering if I should cut the 2.43 meter cotton fabric in half and then attach the heavier 1.5 meter satin fabric in between.

After all, the pleats are about midway.
