Plo Card -indian Visa Procedure For Baby -need Help Urgent

Hi
I delivered my baby on march 29 2011 . He is a US citizen now.
I have got his ssn,birth certificate and passport.
Going to apply fir his PIO card / Indian visa.
Saw the application form and have the following queries.
1. It asks for the proof of address in India
If the address in my passport is not same as the current one.
It states some r/o proof not sure of what it is.
Kindly let me know what proof u gave.

2.photo req :
He is 3 month now what are the photo requirements
Are they very strict ?? I'm having a hard time taking his photo.

3. Documents needed:
I have the following documents.
1.birth certificate copy
2.baby's SSN and passport along with 4 photos.
3.our passports copy
4. I'd proof my husbands license id
5.marriage certificate

Do I need to send orginals or copy of them??
Kindly add if I left anything also the following
Two print outs of the form PIO and the Order Form.

3. Shipping
Planning to send them to Houston as in in Florida
With money order and the return shipping USPS express mail .
Is it fine???
How long it will take to get them ??
Appreciate all ur response as we will be
traveling soon
And I'm yet to get his visa .

Hi Ramya,

Congratulations on the new born!!

PIO applications are now collected through Travisa. Hope you have referred the website travisapio.com. Everything is explained in detail there. Please give atleast 1 month for processing - do not purchase your tickets until you get the documents - you have to submit the original US passport too. SSN is not required.

If you have to travel soon, go fo a tourist visa instead of PIO; you get visas much faster than PIO.

Regarding photo, make sure the background is white, baby facing front with open eyes. You take photos at home - you may try many times and will surely get atleast one good pose , and upload in epassportphoto.com, and get a print at your local walgreens or any store.
