    Hi All,

I am a working gal and somedays I want easy hot meals with not much effort needed from my side. I would like to to see if I can do more crockpot or slow cooker based Indian cooking.

Have you guys tried any recipes. If yes, could you share them with us.

So far I use it boil stuff with some masalas for curries like chana masala, rajma, massor dal and do proper tadka later. But I can't think of more uses.

    Please suggest and share.

Happysoul, oooh karhi (yumm...) Could you provide slow cooker recipes for the suggested recipes ? Looking forward to your reply. Awesome suggestion.

armummy, Thanks for the link. great suggestion. I tried adding onion, tomatoes etc. once, but somehow that raw smell of onion never goes. Even if you cook it for an hr or with no lid in slow cooker. I will try this microwave tadka though.

    Thanks guys..

Make 3 meals with 1 meat
The first day cook the meat ( I like to use a pork butt) and eat it that way
The next day take some out and pit bbq sauce on it for sandwhiches and the last night make this

    Mexican Roll Ups
This is something I made up its a great way to use left over meat.

    Use one of your choice
Shredded Chicken, shredded beef or shredded pork
Put in skillet with 1 pkg of taco seasoning
Add enough water so that you may simmer it, not to much

    After simmering like 20 min
Place small amount in to soft burrito shell, I like to use the large ones.
Roll them up and secure with toothpicks
In deep fryer or skillet, brown til golden brown
    They will be crunchy
Serve with sour cream, salsa or gucamole

Dont forget to remove toothpicks !!!!

    karhi

2 cups buttermilk mixed with 1 cup water, salt to taste and 1/2 tsp haldi
    2 tbsp besan
Mix and grind to coarse powder - 4 cloves, 1/2 inch cinnamon, 2-3 dry red chillies, 1/2 tsp each jeera, rye, methi seeds, 1 green elaichi, hing to taste.
    4-5 curry leaves

Whisk well buttermilk mix and besan. Cook in slow cooker for 3-4 hours until raw taste of besan goes away.
In some ghee or oil, roast curry leaves and ground spices. Pour into karhi, mix well and enjoy!
