Agarbatti or incense stick fragrance is a big topic of discussion in our home with me and my better half having different preferences of fragrances. I like more subtle, earthy, natural smelling ones like sandalwood, camphor, mild floral ones.. whereas my husband does not like them and prefers strong ones. Wondering if there is a middle ground or what are some of the Ill'tes favortite tried and tested ones for pooja and auspicious days.

Agarbathi with Sambrani (Benzoin) smell could be a compromise between the two with more spiritual experience smelling it. It has a has a rich, peaceful, and balsamic fragrance with notes of wood, resin, and spices. It might also give a strong smell that your husband likes.

For several decades, I have in the mornings and evenings exposed to various brands of mattipal incense sticks which seems to appeal to all generations in equal measures.
Several mattipal agarbathis available in market India and in Asian countries.

Mattipal, a derivative of the fragrant sap of Peepal tree or 'Bodhi', has a magical power to evoke a peaceful atmosphere.

I remember a mullah every Friday evenings comes with burning charcoal and ready to use powder form of sambrani in our street.
He is said to cure people especially babies suffer from toxic eyes by chanting a Pasram from his holy book while exposing baby to fresh incense smoke that billows from the hand held charcoal ember.
Amazon would help you to make a selection.

Infused with a delightful flora fragrance, these sticks produce a pleasant and calming scent that can help to alleviate stress and enhance relaxation.
