please start a group for diabetics.

    Hi all,
    as we all know nowadays we suffer so much from anxiety and mental stress and health related problems arise and one of them is diabetes.
    I request you to please start a group where every one gets to know more about diabetes - "a silent killer" , where we can discuss about diet,exercise every bit of knowledge one can share.
    so please ladies pour your thoughts here.

    I will tell information which I read.

    There is two kind of diabetics. They are Type I and Type II

    Its always better to avoid too much rice.
    Exercise is the best option;if we do not have time, then atleast we need to go for a walk :):)

    As far as, I know only this much.

    Hello,

    Really Appreciate u wanna discuss on Diabetics.
    Eating Rice is a Big NO. Most of the Doctors in India Suggest
    eating Finger Millet (Raagi) Raagi Balls, Porridge etc.
    But the fact is the sugar level goes up once u eat Raagi Balls.
    You can try it!

    Eating Chappatis helps, Drinking Bitter gourd Juice Helps. I know it's really
    yuckky but than trust me it helps & walking helps too.

    a discipled life, regular exercise esp. brisk walking to burn calories and a diabetic diet is very helpful in controlling the silent-killer

    I think i have posted in a wrong forum... i didn't get many replies. So I am re posting it here, which everyone would benefit.

    Initially I wanted to explain how diabetic people blood is different from normal people blood with pictures. Than later on I will give you home remedy for it.

    Here the Insulin works normally.

    A person with less insulin production take more fiber so that it takes time to digest.

    A diabetic person with less fiber, digestion takes place fast & blood cells have more glucose than insulin production.

    Here in the above picture Blood has more amount of glucose & resulting in diabetes & w.r.t. less insulin action.

    One & only one best way is to walk (Walk with relaxed without talking). Walking gives the work to muscles & it results in usage of blood sugar. Muscles asks for energy from blood to work.

    One home remedy for it is

    1/4 cup Turmeric powder

    1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
    1 cup fenugreek seed powder

    1/2 cup curry leaves powder


    Mix well all powders & take 1 teaspoon once or twice daily, after meal depending upon blood sugar level. If you have more sugar level take 2 times a day after meal. Continue it for atleast one month & monitor sugar level. IMPORTANT: Monitor sugar level as frequent as possible. After 1 month don't stop it immediately.

    The best way to get something done is to begin. Sudden and drastic changes tends to make one put off what you started. The Importance of the four lifestyle changes should be in the foll. order as per its effectiveness in the control of blood sugar.
    EXERCISE
    WEIGHT LOSS
    DIET CONTROL
    MEDICATIONS ( IF PRESCRIBED )
    A doctors advice and through check up to analyse the extent of diabetes and its control remedy is essential.
    Diet variations differ from person to person. Although, a general rule of low carb and high fiber is more effective. Wheat, corn,sprouts, pulses, vegetables (except potatoes, carrots, beets, and yams) both cooked and raw are fine, fish ( non veg) n poultry is acceptable . NO RED MEAT.
    A BIG NO To ALL REFINED SUGARS AND SWEETNERS.
    Calories from any source will end up as glucose in the blood, so no hoarding your plate.
    Diabetics' tend to get hungry often ... so cut down portion size and increase meal frequency.
    Hope this will be of some help to you. I'm not qualified but speak from experience.... my husband is a diabetic and this has worked.
