My daughter is 2 years and 3 months old.Recently i noticed her chest growing and i mentioned this to by doctor during her check up.She said it could be symptom of early Puberty and we need to watch her closely. My doc did mention that in chubby baby it can be possible due to weight but since my daughter is very skinny her breast growth is very visible. She gave me appointment after 3 weeks to come for check up and mentioned if needed we might need blood work,x-ray,etc....She checked her underarms and diaper area if there is any hair.but nothing was found...she said we need to be concerned if we see hair in those areas. But i could see hair growth on her hands and legs for the past 2 months which she mentioned as common in few kids....

Is a little growth in breast are in toddlers age common?any experiences....Please share

We are devastated after talking to doctor , couldn't do anything all day...How can a 2 year old be close to Puberty?I have no words to explain how sad we are after this news...my daughter is very happy kid who smiles all day....

Please share with me if you have ever heard of this situation for Toddlers. We give our daughter organic food as much as possible.....I really appreciate if you can share your experiences. We are praying to god that this should be false alarm and she should be healthy.I cant even imagine my daughter going through Puberty this early........Please pray for my daughter!!!!

Jaw I, is she still breastfed? If not, has she been taking any vitamin supplements lately? Anything at all? Any changes in food intake? Think back and see what changed. If nothing unusual comes to your mind, as doctor suggested, keep a close eye and follow up with doctors appointment

Certain chemicals cause this, i've read. Keeping away from plastics would be advisable - BPA in particular. Bpa is also found in the lining of canned foods. That is to be avoided. A lot of these chemicals are found in nonconsumables like toys and cosmetics too.

also have you / her dad started using any new cosmetic? A hair regrow the formula had excessive levels of one chemical which led the children(twin boyand girl) of this man using it, start developing breasts.

This is one of the pages I found which give lots of detail.
What is Causing Early Puberty In Girls? : TreeHugger

Exercise helps according to the link above. I suggest you read up on toy safety standard guidelines and discard plastic toys which don't adhere to the standards. There are lots of wonderful wooden toys in the market as an alternate.

Jaanu, why were the vitamins prescribed in the first place? Actually a lot of doctors prescribe them lately so, I dont specifically blame yours. Can you check the lables and see what is in them? Could it be a that a small portion of certain hormones are contributing to the chest growth? Some kids are more tolerant than others.
I have not heard of a scenario where excess milk is contributing to this but like guesswho said, BPA could be another factor in your LO's case.

Can you also share what her typical day looks like in terms of food? Perhaps we can see something there.

Thanks Guesshoo for sharing this link.We are in process of changing non-stick cookware to steel and see how it works.Hopefully it will make difference.

Rakhii, i checked vitamins label. It doesn't have any additional details except the list of vitamins. My docs routinely prescribes for all kids, i checked with my friends too. Will stop using it for sometime and see if i can see any difference.

I am wondering what could have caused this change in my daughter.I am a stay at home mom and my day starts and ends with her.
We are very careful with her toys and sippy cup, everything she has is BPA free .I even check the guddy bags which she gets and we give her toys if they are only BPA free.

Here is her routine. Most of her food is homemade, when she was small baby i used Earth best organic baby food sometimes.

Morning breakfast - Dosa, idly, upma, egg, occasionally vada with coconut chutney or Peanut.
    Lunch - Rice,dal,organic vegs(carrot,okra,radish,peas,beans,spinach),egg(organic),chicken(organic),mutton,fish.
Dinner- Rice or roti with curry.Snacks - Homemade organic potato frys (i never reuse fried oild second time in any form)
    Snack -cheatos,cheeros,organic flavoured yougurt,salt biscuites,fruit,avagadov,chips(very occationally)
Ghee- i make fresh ghee with organic butter
    Milk - Organic

Please suggest if you can think of any changes....

OP: I think you should have a second opinion from another pediatrician. You might also consult a pediatric endocrinologist. The reason I am suggesting getting on this asap is that IF there is some hormonal or genetic problem, she can receive treatment before a lot of changes occur.

Jaanu, everything you say seem perfect. I simply cannot see what could have caused this. I don't know how it works in US but here if we need a second opinion, we need to ask the family doctor to refer us to one. Usually in cases where the problem is uncertain, they don't think twice to refer to a specialist. Call the doctor and see if you can get any further testing done. And do this ASAP. Breast growth (to the best of my knowledge) is hormone related and needs to be checked.
