You are right about international schools being expensive and if you are not planning to continue in the same school after returning to India, you can consider the local (govt) system here.

Academic year for local schools is Jan - Dec. but they do take in children in mid term also if they have seats and there are too many of these schools all over singapore, so you can find one close to your home without much difficulty.

Check out this link for some FAQs of PCF (gov kindergartens).

The fees may vary from school to school, it will be somewhere in the range of $300 per month.

Many of these schools have infant/child/student care attached to it. I am not sure about daytime nannys, but most of the people here have live-in maids. It heard that the costs is about 600 - 1000$ depending on the agency. Hope people with maids can guide you better. Since you are going to be here with your daughter only, you can consider hiring a maid.

Welcome to Singapore

Since your child is in kindergarten, you can check out the local PAP schools in your locality as well to check for openings. There are many schools all over SG and it shouldn't be a problem to locate one with vaccancy.

Have you decided on hiring a maid or arranging for student/day care centre for your child?

i heard from oneof my friend 1/2 day daycare cost abt 600SGD.just fyi to do the maths.

recently came to singapore 10 days back to be precies and think we r sailing in the same boat ;-)
luking out for schools for my two sons it is expensive here and moreover they don't have vaccancy...if u find some do let me know as well thanx , well i m staying at rosewood drive woodlands, where r u put up ?
