planning to visit New york

Hi

We are in connecticut and were planning for a tour to new york.what are all the places we can see there and more over how to commute from one place to another.Which place is cheaper to stay.We will be coming by our car to new york but the thing is everyone are telling we cant use the car in new york as it is so difficult to park in the places.Please guide me with your experience

Hi,
Welcome to New york
You will surely love it. Yes, like many are saying commuting by car will be hard inside the city. However, you can travel from your place to NY and then may be park it at the hotel. To commute inside the city, you can use the subway and bus system. It is excellent.
Places to see:
Liberty(will take about half day)
Times Square
Empire State
Rockefeller centre
Central PArk
Museums(if you like)
Wall street

This is all I can remember as of now. Will post back soon.

Getting hotel in new york is so costly.in which place i can get the hotel to stay.people are telling to take a hotel outside so that it will be less expensive.give your advice

I really do not have much ideas about hotels. May be you could search for hotels in Queens area and not manhattan. Just check out the rents and post it here. May be some one can give an idea. Anywhere you stay in NYC,travel will never be a problem. Don't worry on that. LEt us know,once you decide the hotel,you can plan your subway trips too.

Welcome.
How many days trip?

I would suggest you to stay in NJ area and visit NY. Staying in NY will cost you more. NJ is best for you guys.

Statue of Liberty is a must see place
Niagara will be awesome !
Empire state building

brooklyn botanical garden
malls

Hello Friends,

We are planning to visit New York during the April month end and are planning to drive from Philly. We are a group of 4 adults and 4 kids and hence planning to just visit Statue of Liberty and Times Square. Could someone let me know the train/bus route inside New York city.
