    Dear Friends,

    I'll be coming to Banglore 1st time in my life.. will be coming with my mum and DH. Please suggest to me the places I could visit in Banglore and where could i shop for Sarees and salwar suits.

    Hi Suzanne,
    There are not much places within bangalore for sight seeing I guess...but for shopping I can suggest you commercial street or Jayanagar 4th block for salwar and saree shopping where you can bargain well esp for salwar materials. Also you get good sarees in chickpet. Hope some one else too wil pour in their suggestions.

    i agree with ami.

    u can go for shopping in commercial street. both salwar and sarees r available.just go to the small lanes and u can bargain for a cheap price.

    for sarees chickpet is the best. but it will be good if a known person is with u to explore the place.

    Some places you can visit in and around Bangalore:
    1. Innovative film city
    2. Nandi Temple
    3. Mysore Palace
    4. Cubbon Park and Lalbagh botanical garden
    5. HAL Museum (this is only if you like to know more about the aeronautical developments in India)

    Commercial street and chikpet visit is good but I don't think Bangalore is THE place to come to shop for dress materials if you can buy anywhere else like bombay, surat, few places in tamilnadu
