Places to visit in SF?

Hi All,

We're planing to go to San Franciso for this summer. We are living in los angeles area, not sure what are the places we can visit in SF. Can any one could provide some hints and suggestions?.

SF City as such is beautiful with its bay view and weather. Notable places are bay bridge, golden gate bridge, twin peaks, crooked st, coit tower, ride through cable car at powell etc. Take a ride to Route 1, south from SF; its so beautiful with all the beaches. Napa and sonama wine counties are not too far if you like wineries. Its beatiful to see all the grapes before harvest.

Hi Mehana,
There is SO MUCH to see in SF. Pier 39 is a must stop. There is always a farmers market on Saturday mornings till noon. The drive through the city you will see all the architecture, the city hall with the gold dome, Golden Gate park is just breath taking, the drive on the golden gate bridge has just an outstanding view of the city/sea. Lombard Street - worlds famous crooked street.
You can also take bay tours which run about $25/person. They take you out to the sea and under the golden gate bridge and close to the famous Alcatraz island.
Also try researching the SF guide, it will be very helpful.

You get awesome views of the city skyline from Treasure island view point. Make sure to visit by sunset.

we planning to go to golden gate bridge, crooked st and famous Alcatraz islanda also. let's see how it works, do you also suggest me any good/cheap hotels to stay nearby?

You can try adjacent cities SF for better rates. Burlingame is just minutes away from SF.

You will definitely enjoy the trip. SF is beautiful. It can get colder all of a sudden even in summer, so make sure you carry light jackets. It gets really hot in SF (but not comparable to many other states ) only for a week or so in mid Aug - early Sep time frame...
