    Dear Goodwill,

3 days is not enough to cover both LV and LA completely. If you are just planning only disney land , and just a few places in LV , then may be it will be enough. That too with a 2.5 yr old kid.
You will need one whole day to cover just 50% of disney land. ( that too because with a 2.5 yr old, you will not be able to go on a lot of rides due to the height restrictions.) . You can skip Universal Studios ( but if you want to see it keep at least half a day for this). LA to LV can be covered in about 1 and 1/2 hours. But with the traffic and kid, i would say give it atleast 3 hours. If you reach LV in the evening, then you can cover the strip that evening for seeing a few of the free evening shows. Keep the next day for Tuasauds museum, and other casinos. Do your research before you go. All casinos will not allow kids on the gambling floor. So if you want to gamble, then you and hubby will have to take turns.

    Have fun

    Dear Vandhana,

    Thanks for your valuable suggestions.

As you mentioned, with our 2.5 yrs toddler, we may not be able to enjoy much rides. I need another help from you.

How about planning Los Angeles and San Diego for 4 days. Is that feasible? We are planning to visit Disney Land (my daughter loves Disney characters), Sea World at San Diego.

    Expecting your valuable suggestions.

    Thanks,
    Goodwill

    Hi Vandhana,

    Good wishes!

We (husband, 2.5 yrs daughter and myself) are planning to visit LA and San Diego during next month end for 4 days. From all the posts mentioned here, we have planned to visit

    1. Disney Land - 1st day
    2. Lego Land - 2nd day
    3. Sea World - 3rd day
    4. San Diego Zoo - 4th day (optional. Depends upon my daughter's co-operation)

We are planning to fly from Chicago to LA. How about the ticket prices, place of stay and places to eat/pack food?

    Expecting your valuable suggestions.

    Thanks,
    Goodwill

Re: Places of attraction: Las Vegas & Grand Canyon

    Dear Goodwill,

Here is some information : from Chicago, Southwest flies from Midway airport to Orange County ( airport code is SNA) Fly to Orange county airport as that is close to Ananheim ( disneyland) as well as Carlsbad( lego land) . You should be able to get good deals on SW. usually around 200 bucks. Try it. Service is good.

Your tour plan sounds good. If you are AAA member, then please go to a AAA office and you should be able to get good discounts for all the places. Otherwise visit the website for each place to get the tickets prices. I think Sandiego has a tourist pass that includes the Zoo, sea world and lego land. Check it out online at their website.

As for staying, i would suggest that the first night stay close to disney land in Anaheim.
For the sandiego places, stay in Carlsbad CA, this is where Lego land is, and from Carlsbad, Sea World and sandiego are about 30 minutes away.

One of our members Sunitha had recently been to LA area. Here is alink to her post on her trip: http://www.indusladies.com/forums/i...20-bay-area-ladies-meet-here-7.html#post21191

As for food, depends on how much you want to cook in the hotel or not. I usually take my rice cooker and ask for a micrwave atleast in the hotel room. ( if am not satying in one of the extended stay hotels that come fully equiped with a kitchen). Usually i cook dinner. Lunch we buy in the parks and eat. All the places have quite a few options for food.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need any more information.

    Re: To Sunitha

    Hi Sunitha,

We are planning a trip to Disney Land and San Diego (Sea World, Legoland and Zoo) during the last week of May. We'll be visiting Disney land during the first day of our trip followed by Sea World, Legoland and Zoo during the subsequent days. Could you mention where you stayed during your trip.

    Thanks,

    Priceline - How it works

    Hello friends,

I am planning to book tickets for my forthcoming LA/San Diego trip through Priceline.com using their "name your own price" service. Can anyone elaborate how this works and what would happen if they are unable to match my price quoted. Will I end up being forced into an inferior hotel than what I requested. Please advice.

Re: Places of attraction: Las Vegas & Grand Canyon

    Hi all,
It'll take atleast 4 days to cover LV & GC. We're in Los Angeles and we started on friday night around 7 pm by car. We had 2 breaks inbetween and we reached there at 1.30am. My personal opinion is that u can book a room at Holiday Inn. The room rent is $100 for 4 beds. It was good. Tey have their shuttle service to Las Vegas strip which takes about 3 mins. else u can walk to it. Las Vegas itself will take 1.5 days. Then u can visit the hoover dam for the rest of 2nd day. 3rd day u can start to death valley. even though u can travel continuously for 3 days fatigue sets in the 2nd day itself. so plan accordingly
