Friends count me too, i have my PIGGY BANK for past 15 years , used to drop some coins and even some big amiount on regular basis and i will also transfer that amount to my SB And my son got separate one too from his age of 2 , i have asked him to put all the money whatever he receives as gifts and blessings from elders for any occasion, and in the year end, i will be depositing that PIGGY BANK COLLECTION in his OWN SB ACCOUNT - i want him to do so lifelong And, i will be having another one for VENDUDHAL - SWAMY UNDIYAL - and will be depositing some small amount daily or on regular basis for my KULADEIVAM. SV, look up for a thread in parenting forum.i am against paying for chores and good marks until a certain age. say the kiddo is 10+ it is fine. right now my son wants a 5k cricket bat and has told me that he would want to save. it is not difficult to buy it for him, but he wants to get it in his own steam. so the deal between us. 10rs for all the work he does outside for the family. 50 rs if he learns to tackle a new errand..like paying telephone bill, depositing a cheque. these without any help from others...
My son (2.3 yrs) has one: From his first birthday we use to put his collections (given by his dad, uncle whoever gives him money) in the piggy bank. Now after his second birthday we opened the biggy bank and found Rs.1,300/- cash in it. With that amount we add some and bought him a cycle. Now he started to save his money to buy something new on his third birthday.
Had it once when I was too small. After around 20 years one of my colleague gifted my kid the same. The kid in me woke up to the nostalgia and now I save on behalf of my 11 months old daughter. Hope to continue this and enjoy saving with my daughter.... Thanks to that colleague!!!!
