Dear Kamal
I subscribe strongly to the famous adage "Grass is greener"!

Basically everyone's attachment to a country whence he derived his birth and infant nurture will always be very strong. This attachment will enable him to overlook all the shortcomings of his native land. When a couple of years back, when US was reeling under severe storms and for once the Govt was on tenterhooks to overcome the effects of the natural disaster, people here were saying that such things happened in Mumbai almost every year and that we were able to take them in our strides. When London faced a couple of terrorist bombings, we saw how badly shattered the Police were as compared to the equaniminity of our cops in the face of much worse happenings.

And look at the story that the Uncle has narrated about the woman complaining to the Police HQ about the cop who helped her. We dont see such prim and proper ladies down here because they are a lot more compassionate. They never cut off the hand that succours them.

Nice read but thank you, I love my India!
    Sri

    Dear Roopa,

Yes the cops here are underpaid for sure, with lousy facilities.Thats sad.A lot needs to be changed, and for that almost everyone should pay their taxes.

    Hi,

Well narrated; And a nice info about the UK govt; I agree what pleasure we get in few countries is not possible now in India may be for few more years.Still I LOVE MY INDIA.If everyone loves to enjoy the luxury and stay abroad then our India will never reach that stage. After celebrating the 61st anniversary of Indian independence i should never feel bad for staying in my country. What my forefathers didnt have, my father had; what my father wasnt able to enjoy i am enjoying; tomorrow my kids will enjoy what i was longong for. Anything will not happen in a night. The whole society has to co-operate for this improvement. It doesnt mean that we should die for the country like our freedom fighters; atleast try not to offend our country.

    Dear Sis Varloo,

My Rakhi wishes to u too.In fact an I lite sent me by post a Rakhi, and I am very very touched.I don’t have a sister, and neither does mom or Dad.So u know how it is.

And welcome to my blog. And most of my cousins staying abroad, don’t want to come and settle in India, though I think there is no better country than India, for the honest people, for the dishonest for the thieves and robbers in short for everyone, thisis the best country to live in.I would never go anywhere else for any amount of money.

    Thanks and Regards.kamal

    Dear Sri,

So true what u said. For me too this is the country that I love, and would never ever want to stay anywhere else.

Yes during Katrina last year, instead of helping their fellow brethren, we saw people looting and killing.Sad really.

    I agree with u East or <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" />West India is the Best.

    Regards.kamal

kamalji..Description of Peter uncle and his living style in Uk is very interesting.Having spent about a year in London I liked some aspects there ,which will be beneficiary for many in our country.Free medical service(as long as the case is not serious and doesnt need a specialist) is done with good quality.Free medicine, food coupons, milk coupons for kids and pregnant ladies..Distribution of these is done without any one being neglected.Free bus pass for students upto certain age.

I would love to have these in India..without any corruption playing in between the people and the government.
