It was a warm morning, As warm as it can be. We went for a walk, My little one and me . Here it is that we met Mrs. Manacha my friend Who was also on her walk With her gait and stead. She greeted me with a smile And a loud Hi, Hi, I gave her a warm hug. She was a friend not a bug. As we stood talking, And we started walking, My little one started sulking With a wail and and yelping. He said “you are mine, And only mine, Oh Mummy, you are mine No sharing, you are mine.” “Carry me now, carry me, You are mine and only mine I don’t’ like this lady Talking to you, what is mine.” So I carried my little one, And put him on my shoulder Oh what a blunder Talking to someone a blunder? Don’t you all wonder, Why he is spoilt asunder He is my little Ronnie My dear four legged baby. This is what happens every time i talk to someone. My little fellow wants full attention. He will bark till he is carried. Only after i carry him can is resume my talk. Most possessive fellow. Regards Uma
Dear Vaidehi, Thanks for your reply. He is not a puppy anymore. He is 14 years old now. But never grew. They say dogs are always babies. I am enjoying every minute of his company. Regards Uma
Hi Uma, Such a beautiful heartwarming touching poem about your little one....14 yr old RONNIE.So very true ..our dear pets never grow up from their puppy stage ever for us loving Moms & Dads. Our 10 yr old Lab Romeo is also a terribly pampered and possessive pet .He protests with whimpers & whines if we spend too long chatting on the phone!! So we make sure we sit next to him and pat him all along.Poor chap he has arthritis now & not as active as he was even till a year ago.
