Periods after C-section

    Hi everyone

    I had c-section during November last year. My periods resumed on 20th March.

    1st Period --> 20th march
    2nd Period --> 8th April (18 days cycle)
    3rd Period --> 21st April (13 days cycle)

    I am having very very heavy flow. Am not sure what to do. Is it normal? Any one faced similar situations? Before pregnancy i used to have on -the-dot 28 day cycle with normal flow.

    Please reply as am panicking a lotttt :( :( :(

    It is not normal but there is nothing to panic also.. I would suggest you to consult the doctor...periods occuring dis often will make u weak n anaemic

    Thanks nalini...I just started work so it is really uncomfortable with these frequent periods..

    Hi,

    I had a Normal delivery .But still it took almost a year for periods to regularize. So it should be fine

    Please check once with your gynae as anything less than 21 days is considered frequent!

    Dear Frnds,

    Even I delivered my baby on feb 9th 2014.. thro' c-section. had bleeding until march 10th to 12th

    I had my monthly cycle on march 16th. which lasted for 10-12 days .. again on april 18th i had cycle and bleeding lasted for 10 days..


    how soon do we get monthly cycle periods after c-section?

    I am in the same boat. i had baby last summer, my periods resumes in march and have already got another one in early April. I think hormones are out of whack and take some time to regualte. @dollysonpari i don't think your periods should start this early despite c-section. This might be internal bleeding, i would get it checked by the gyno.

    I was told by my gyn that it all depends on Breast feeding , If we are BF periods would delay else they will be early.

    For me periods resumed after 6 months and they were irregular , I mean every alternate month.

    My periods started ten months after my c sec but then I was exclusively breastfeeding . So it all depends on our bodies but yes I agree its better to show to a doc.
    @dolly sonpari, I don't think its petiods . Most probably its left internal tissue which is coming as blood , bodys natural defense. I had very heavy flow around two months after c sec which was only for one day but then I realized I had eaten some herbs given by my mom to flush my uterus.

    Hi,
    periods really depends on individual body and breast feeding routine. I gave birth to my son on 1 September 13 by c sec,and I am breast feeding my son ,though reduced frequency when compared to starting months and till date I haven't got my periods which were exact cycle of 28 days prior my pregnancy.
