Hi Dr,

Thanks for sharing the valuable info. After marriage only we identified that I am having pcos and I am taking the treatment and its got reduced better. This is not allowing me to get pregnant. In this thread all are saying as because of pcos weight is increased. But in my case that s reversed. I have normal weight but y I got thyroid? I have stopped to eat the following items:

Cow cow
ice cream
Chill water
Cabbage
Califlower
Soya

Whether my diet is corrrct ?

Oosure is good in PCOS. So your doctor isn't wrong. As far as I know OOsure is myo inositol. (Correct me if I am wrong). Inositol is from group of B-vitamins. It is also an important constituent of cell membrane. There are several forms of inositol showing therapeutic value in PCOS.

So in PCOS weight gain is because of insulin resistance as well as the hormonal imbalance. To keep your body functions at normal you have to keep your insulin under check. So eat food of LOW GLYCEMIC INDEX.
Frequent small meals and do an hour of brisk walk every day. Yoga and aerobics also helps a lot.
Avoid carbohydrate and take low cal food. Keep your BMI constant. It’s not that difficult to lose weight in PCOS...

Myo Inositol may have some side effects
· Breathing problems
· Chest pain
· Skin hives, rash, or itchy or swollen skin
· Loose stools, stomach gas, nausea, and increased mood swings.
But they are rare…
One more thing I would suggest you to go for pregnancy test also. I am always there to help you.

sorry didn't understand your mail completely. Do You have thyroid also.
Yes due to PCOS most of the women gain weight. But it has been found that women with normal weight can also have PCOS.cabbage family is restricted in hypothyroid...
otherwise as i have written in my previous mail that in PCOS you should have low carbohydrate diet .so you avoid carbohydrate in your diet. have more fruits and vegetables.

hi doctor surabhi,

i am suffering from pcos and having irregular periods and i am married. my doctor prescribed me with a tablet modus 10mg for inducing periods and my doubt is , Is Modus 10 mg is a contraceptive pill ? will i conceive when i am on this pill? please help me.....

Hi Dr,

Thanks for reply. Yes i have thyroid. and taking a thyroid tablets but i did not take a medicine for PCOS.

welcome here.
Yes junk is a big nooooooo in PCOS. No preservative and no processed carbohydrate. You can read my previous mails. I have explained in detail about what to eat and what to avoid.eat lots and lots of fresh vegetables and fruits with low glycemic index food items.

-secondary amenorrhoea

-abnormal uterine bleeding

-hormonal imbalance

-endometrosis
