swaran nice thread and all the feed backs are very funny. I remember only this: Kurangu kaila poomala kidacha mathiri koduma kodumanu koyilukku pona anga rendu koduma dingu dingunu aaduchan I dont whether i have written correctly. these are only heard by me.
perfectly correct :thumbsup one more from my side when i heard the word panam "AADA ORU PANAM NA OOYA MUKKA PANAM" means if you want to make a person dance, you have to give quarter of the amount, but to stop him from dancing you ll have to give the full amount... this happens when we compel someone (if they are not opening up)to do something :: for eg if a person is not talking well,we encourage them to talk but end up getting bored by their non-stop talk,we feel "Oh,god why did i ask him to start talking"
Hi, Another pazhamozhi or two I wud like to share- VIDIA VIDIA RAMAYANAM KAETTUTTU SSETHAIKU RAMAN CHITHHAPPA NU SONNALLAAM!!! (meaning heard Ramayan all through the night and said Rama is Seethas Paternal uncle:bonk)-total misunderstanding and lack of proper communication ) OORAR VEETU NEIYE EN PONDAATI KAIYE!!! (meaning-enjoying others things ,booty etc. treating it as his own and declaring the same- Like saying-the ghee from my neighbours house tastes great when served by my wife!!!)
there is a little vulgar version of this too...hehehe.. good ones especially i love the OOran veetu neiye en pondatti kaiye..hehehhe
AANAIKU ARRAM NA KUDHIRAIKU KURRAM --if elephant is called Arram, then horse is called Kurram I dont know the exact translation for this but the meaning is...this we use basically for people who talk nonsense or want to prove that they are correct...just like people having conversations regarding spelling son and sun...
hey girls, all the ''sayings'' are very nice. Really made me Lol. in the office. some people alraedy staring at me now. can't control. LOl:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl i know another version ''kodumai kodumai nu kaasi ku pona, ange rendu kodumai avuthu pottutu aadichamm'' -- same meaning as above:biglaugh panju kaa paanam , somai kooli mukka pannam( the cotton costs 25 paise, and the person carrying it costs 75 paise.. like we go in car with petrol, say spend 100Rs to get a thing worth 10RS) u know ''mamiyar odai cha mann satty, marumaga odai cha ponn satty'' recent one ''kekuravan kenaya irundha, erumbu kuda aeroplane ottumam" really nice thread. :rotflwill post more later
I too have heard about this version. I want to add one more but please fill in the blanks Arpanukku ________ ardha rathriyileyum koda pidippan. I think this is used for pudhu panakkarargal.
