    I have a long, narrow balcony on the 17th floor in the UAE......and since I have always had a lot of indoor plants, a year and a half ago I decided to have a few outside as well....here they r.....any enthusiastic gardeners from the Middle East here?? Let's get together and share info on the hows and whys of gardening here....

    hey thats a beautiful balcony garden u have...

    Even i love gardening..But in this weather its more like trial n error method only...

    I tried planting tomato seeds,some Greens(Ponnangani in Tamil),Pudina.
    Greens are growing good..Tomato I donno what the problem is, its becoming big but no flower at all..

    Recently i bought so many plants from nearby nurseries...keeping my fingers crossed to see how its gonna grow...but it is a pleasure to see a greeny balcony...

    Thanx spm1......I lived in the US 20 yrs ago....and the nurseries there were awesum.....the gardening scene is so vibrant there....u r lucky!

    Hi Dashmi,

    I am glad to meet a gardening lover in the UAE. I usually buy my plants from the Iranian market at Mina Port in Abu Dhabi. My first tip is to look for very healthy plants and repot them into a bigger container after two weeks. Water the plants only when the soil seems dry....indoor plants do not need daily watering. Ask the nurseries for fertilizers and use them according to the instructions. Diffenbachia, money plants and other ivy plants, ferns, indoor palms, spider plants, african violets, peace lilies, etc r very good as indoor plants. I will post pics of a few of my indoor plants soon....Hope i have been helpful....
