    Hi All,

I delivered baby boy 10 days back. My baby wasn't latching on my breasts because of short tongue. Doctor didn't diagnose it correct and kept trying to latch baby. After 7 days post delivery I was told to start using breast pump but not to latch baby

Thinking that latching is important, my husband decided to latch my breasts and provide me with required stimulation. He did that few times but without realizing that he might be transmitting bad bacteria from his mouth into my breasts. He has tons of dental issues with gum disease, abscess, cavities (worst dental hygiene).

I am still pumping and getting like 10 ml of milk but not giving it to baby due to risk of infection. Please advice how can make sure my breasts aren't infected and give that milk to baby which is crucial for him

    Thanks
    Riya
