for painting light colour gorgette silk is suitable like light pink, sky blue, pista green etc.,
always buy a sari which is shinning this make ur painting more beautiful.

don't buy dull sari which make ur painting more dull.

Hi,
You can paint on cotton,polyester,georgette or nylon. For flowers you can choose pink, peach, green or blue. I have also done fabric painting course where we have done lots of designs and double blending or triple blending will look fabulous.

Hi,

For fabric painting almost all the fabrics will be good. Choose a lite color saree and dark color shades. Blending gives u richer look. I have done fabric painting in more than 7 sarees. Now-a-days you can get outliners, use then for 3-d effect.

one more tip for fabric painting is , get the Fevicryl pearl colours to give a shining effect to your painting. I used this on my daughters pattu pavadai and it was wonderful...

I have done a few too.:ideaI suggest that you select a favorite color of yours, (put your favourit music, while working, on too) if it is a dark one ,you can choose light colors to paint with, and vice versa.That way you will be motivated to start early and be anxious to wear it.Organdi is my choice, but only if you are an expert in wearing sarees!!Big LaughPure cotton is the next best at least for handling purposes for a beginner.
