One of my favorite cities. We’ve gone multiple times and we don’t know French. Even in the South of France, where people don’t know much of English people have always tried to help us as much as they can.

Before our first trip, I heard such comments about France so I went with a much lower expectation. In reality, we’ve never had any issues.

+1. I have yet to be at a National/State park not worth visiting! Yellowstone is so worth it! If it wasn't a 12h drive, I would have been there every weekend! You do need 4-5 days for just Yellowstone and additional 2 days for Grand Teton. My favorite time to visit Yellowstone is in March/April or September/October when the summer crowds are gone. There is a ~1200 mile trail system--- great for hiking with the kids and for seeing wildflowers.

Love Paris and Grenoble. I don't speak French either.

I have been to Paris (and other places in France) at least six times. Solo on business and with family. I never encountered rude people even when I don't speak French.

Las Vegas is much more than casinos. Red Rock Canyon, Death Valley, and a bit more touristy-Hoover Dam, are worth a visit!

Here is a guy with a message for Tamils. However, until he gives one for Telugu's I am not going there again. Europe is a much better place.

That is one place I have always known I wouldn't like. If a visit happens, it will be a flying visit to accompany a more interested family member.

The National Gallery and the British Museum itself are worth going to London for if not for anything else. They are both up there along with Lourve, Uffizi, Prado, MoMA, Van Gogh, Reikjs etc. By MoMA I mean the one in NYC. Never visited SFO.

That way any city or country with some history and culture is worth going. For me, there has to be some pull or something about a place. Never felt that for London and its surrounding areas in spite of reading so many books set there and many movies too.

Dominican Republic. I wouldn't say it is overrated by itself. But, if deciding on a Caribbean country to visit, and fares and hotel costs etc are mostly the same, choose Jamaica over this.

One was pure magic, the other a massive letdown. Of course, it could be entirely due to the cities we chose to visit, the activities we did and the guides we got. In Jamaica, we were lucky to get locals who did the tour-guide thing as a side gig. One of them managed to pursue me to try cliff diving at a not-touristy spot near Ocho Rios. No life-guards, emergency medical aid and other safety tests like at authorized cliff diving spots. Just put on a life jacket, say a non-believer's prayer and dive down into the water.
