    Hi Ladies!
This poem is in response to a thread "Battles daily with Husband", posted by Leila.

Out of the pages of a mother-in-law's Diary!

(Dates and years are not very important, the whole poem is self explanatory as regards to the time period. Irrespective of whichever period they belong to , m-i-ls are the same all over!)

Oh, Merciful Lord! Thanks to you a Lot!
For the signs of motherhood today I have felt!

My joys have crossed all boundaries!
My sweet little son has caused all this!

Oh Gracious Lord! I'm so happy!
First step, my son has taken, though wobbly!

Oh! How fast he has grown!
Off to school he is gone!

Good Graciuos Lord! How time has flown!
My son is out of the college zone!

With flying colours he has passed!
In his goal he's been steadfast!

Great job he's got and I am a proud mom!
How handsome he looks! Now for a sweet lass!

    My next happiest day!
    My son is married today!

    In comes my daughter-in-law!
    oh.....Where has my happiness gone?

    (to continue....Daughter-in-law's diary)

As you have already mentioned m-i-ls are the same throughout. I think they say that thoughts are what you are. May be their thoughts (mostly like the one you had mentioned) make the d-i-ls behave like the way m-i-ls had thought! Negative thoughts circling around house will have effect on the people living in it .d-i-l will not be the same if the thoughts of m-i-l would have been otherwise. I am not talking about exceptions on either sides.
good poem. Waiting to see the daughter-in-law's diary.

    Malathi,

Good to see a cheeky one from you, look ahead to the DiL version. If Ms-i-L are the same all times, all places, I guess Ds-i-L are the same too---

    You write really well.

Hi Sriniketan, Kamla, Vandana and Vidhya1
Thank you all for the quick response to this poem of mine.Actually, I was expecting more responses especially from existing m-i-ls denying the truth behind this poem! But alas! Out of 79 viewers only 4 have replied! Ofcourse this was not a poem which was from deep inside my core but just a response to another thread which I have mentioned!
And as Vidhya has guessed, Ds-i-L are the same too---!
Any way I will certainly post that one too at the earliest when I find the right situation and motivation! Till then all of you keep guessing!

Dear Malathi, Nice poem revealing the exact feelings of a m-in-law. They want their sons to be married but they donot want another girl to share their son's love. What to do? Pls do write about the daughter-in-law's diary also.

    thanks and regards,

But was not the mother in law a daughter in law once? So we have to adopt a good attitude with our experience.............

    Hi Malathi mam,

That was an excellent poem...in the view of Mother-in-law. I feel it is true with almost all MIL for atleast couple of years after her Son's marriage. Then it will become normal. Till then they feel insecured.
