    hi sushree

    Very nice writeup.....

You captured well about the verious aspects of orissa. I wud like to add sumthing to it.

One thing one should experience is the Odia cuisine. it is one of its kind in the world. There is a wide variety for everyone one - whether its veg or no-veg. The recipes varies from simple to complex both in terms of spices and preparation. Everyone relishes the 'Anna bhog(Mahaprasad)' of Puri. The main characteristic of a typical odia meal is that it is delicately spiced. So it is easy to digest and good for the body. Dishes like saga, bhaja, besara, dalma, pakhala, badi choora , santula, charchadi - these dishes can tickle you taste buds without feeling guilty of eating too spicy food and upsetting your stomach....:)

How can one forget the sweets?????????????????

My mouth starts watering the moment I stepped inside any sweet shop in Odisha. There is mind boggling varieties of sweets - Rosogolla, chenna poda, chena gaja, rasa bali, rasa madhuri, khaja, gaja, ras malai ..... The list goes on and on..... No wonder odia people have big sweet tooth:thumbsup

Now consider pitha. they are prepared at home for various occasions like osa, puja etc. Chakuli, aarisa, enduri, kakra, tala, poda pitha- all these yummy delicacies are prepared at home and relished by one and all.

You can add many more to this list.

    Keep smiling :)
