On Being A Muslim Muslims have been living for hundreds of years in many countries as a minority community. It is immaterial if they have Muslim lineage or are converted because the conversation is in other religions too. They live on every continent. How come that they are not treated like any other citizens in the country of their residence? The worst sufferers are young boys and girls who do not know why they are called terrorists. They are given nicknames line Talibani. What went wrong? It is not that only Muslim invaders committed wholesome violence, loot, torture, or rapes. It is also not that they only have suffered victimization. If we see the list of 57 members nations of the Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation, not all of them are Muslim-dominated. Some of them are rich in natural resources and have been exploited by western powers. It is a fact that the most exploited and victimized people belong to areas rich with mineral resources-oil, coal, iron, jink, diamonds to name a few. We can see it in our own country where tribals are victimized in coal and iron-rich fields. Just as tribals fought for their land, so did the Muslim nations. This sort of exploitation started with the advent of Industrialization. In the process, they have to raise arms to defend themselves. We can say this has been going on since the beginning of industrialization. Thus we see arm struggle going in areas rich with natural resources. With the advent of civilization, better sense should have prevailed with the motto of giving and take but this did not happen. Neither the areas developed nor the inhabitants progressed. All they saw is exploitation. Thankfully, most of the people saw no future in it and left for better options. Only a handful was left to fight the exploiters supported by the Governments. This also proves that only a handful of Muslims are terrorists. Educated and employed Muslims have no role in this. They are more concerned about the future of their children. Those who continued with the fight could set no examples for their kids to be proud of. The only choice left was to follow the footprints. They have no choice but react violently when called names. Their fathers have not set an example for humanity. They have not been tuned to modern times of living with proper education. Their rejection at large by other communities has added fuel to the fire. What is the fault of those kids whose parents did not have any hand in terrorist activities? And, let us not forget, the majority of people in any community want to live in peace and harmony. Their t only fault is that they belong to a Muslim community. Is it really their fault? It is also a warning sign for other religious groups and communities. Hatred for one particular religion or caste or color will not make good humans. Today it is the Muslim community tomorrow it may be another. Those who are using young people for their political ends will be leaving behind a society with no love and respect for each other. Kids are glued to visual media, social platforms. TV Anchors using instigating language unmindful of what their children will turn out to be. Are we not digging our own graves?
