It was a particularly exhausting day after long hours in the office. You come tired back home and is in no mood to prepare dinner for the family. Or for Stay-At-Home-Mothers, it was another day of hectic household chores - running around the kids, cleaning up house, went out for grocery and vegetable shopping. Now you are not inclined to go to the kitchen to venture into an elaborate cooking process. In such a situation what is your best bet to tackle the dinner option. Do share your views and opinions too.
on very busy i would definitely eat nice hot food in a good rest. no chance of me cooking when iam extremely tired and exhausted.......................we need to put up our feet once in a while................
"Eat Out" is best ! After returning from hectic day, all that my body would carve for is rest....cooking again involves enoromous routines like cleaning, washing etc, for which I won't have enought stamina (If I have that much stamina , then I would rather cook a full meal) ! I don't prefer the rest as Upma - is a boring dish. Ready-to-Eat foods are not so tasty. Pizza's - I hate them. Love, Preethi
Too tired, even to go out! After a gruelling work in the home, I would prefer to make a smiple dish like upma or dosai because I would feel very tired to even go out-I need to dress atleast presentably. Or I would cajole hubby to go and get something from the nearest small eat out. Hubby takes us out and gets food often, sometimes even when I had cooked dinner. But when I am too tired or during our anniversary or my birthday, he mostly would not take us out or get food from outside. This happens most of the time.
vote for two options Hi agreed wd Safa it will not b easy to go out . So, I can cook simple food at home or hubby can go out and buy. So, I will go for two.
Hi, In my busy day Uppma is a only solution for my family. Because my in laws are with me. They don't eat ready to eat or hotel foods. So my vote to uppma.:wave
hi I have many a time, found coleslaw a great alternative, along with the bread they r wholesome and any time good to eat, cabbages r so fresh in winter and now the nambdhari coming out with so many lettuces, nice to do shopping and have them ready, whenever u want and the cabbage size lettuce is so crunchy with a little bit of carrots and boiled pastha [ if u want optional though] spring oinions and add a lot of eggless mayonaisse and thousand island or fresh cream and some olive oil toss it up with some nuts and put them inbetween buns, breads or croissants any thing and good and fullfilling effect....
a one pot meal After a hectic day, all we want is to get back home, sit in front of the idiot box, or play some nice music and relax. Ideally, my husband and I together, make a one-pot meal like upma. Or if I am totally crashed out, he makes sphagetti and we eat it with sauce and cheese. Not very healthful, but better than take-away. And def easier than dressing up, going out and ordering a meal.
Hi Ilites.... When I am very tired and go home, I used to cook rather than going some where. Many a time, I'll prepare upma and some times maggi also. Pizzas and all junk food r not that healthy food. So if I am exuasted, I'll boil some water and put maggi or instant upma in that. This is my view. Gayathri.
