    Hi all,

Well..it is all decided then.We will be R2I by this time next yr.I am ready to give up all the good life I have in USA for solely 2 reasons..

    1) sense of belonging
    2) no more loneliness...

Will I get the above two if I R2I ??

Especially during winter..loneliness takes a HIKE in USA:((

Since you have already decided to go back to india...Good luck

Staying in any particular place really depends on your state of mind. Is all I wanted to say :)

If you have already decided in going back, then what is the purpose of this thread? Having said that only you can decide what makes you happy.

I did R2I and had an extremely positive experience. I had the toughest time among all to adjust back but I did. I loved the festivals, relatives the whole nine yards. I'm back in the US after 4 yrs now and the loneliness is even more pronounced now that I know how things are back in India. If possible, stay in a huge apt community. The benefits are priceless. Oh btw, I didn't stay with either set of parents(both lived an overnight train journey away). I think most of my issues with r2i were related to my change in perceptions over the years. I didn't like my parents or pils interfering in our lives anymore. After the first few months they all lost interest in the happenings at our place and we were happy!
    Happy R2I. I envy you!

    Brinda,

Good luck. I'm waiting for the day when we can move to India permanently.

You might find it difficult to adjust in the first few months and I'm sure you'll start loving it after getting settles.

All the people I know who went back to India has only good things to say.
